Ye Gong's Dragon

"Ye Gongzi is very fond of dragons. He hooked them to write dragons, chiseled them to write dragons, and carved inscriptions in the house to write dragons. So the heavenly dragon heard it, peeped at the head, and put its tail on the hall. When Ye Gong saw it, he abandoned it and returned it. If you go, you will lose your soul, and you will have no owner of five colors. It is Lord Ye who is not a good dragon, and a husband who is like a dragon but not a dragon."

Democracy is to Britain what this dragon is to Ye Gong, love is love, but when it comes time to settle accounts, the parade of the people is nothing but thunder and rain. For 15 years, fortunately, sympathy did not die, justice came late, and grievances were finally overturned.

Just when my mind was swaying, I watched this movie and had a lot of love in my heart. I planned to use this film review to express my mind, and I would also be my own "dragon" for a while.

U.K.

Sitting on the glory of the sun, but unable to hold back the younger brother on the side of his couch, he did everything possible to attack the Irish people. I remember that last year in the United States, St. Patrick's Day dyed New England green, whether it was Irish or not, I was entertained. Young people have long forgotten that the Irish were a discriminated group in the United States. Today, Ju is a group of Irish people who are full of fire and gypsophila. They take root like weeds, and abruptly grow the non-mainstream into the mainstream culture.

The way the Republicans play has a taste of guerrilla warfare. Let the British tanks walk clumsily, and a few pieces of broken iron are enough for the Irish. But things can't be so simple. In order to understand their anger, the British sanctimonious police caught the scapegoat of the ethnic conflict with the bill just passed. Creatures under the democratic system tear justice to shreds in this way, the rights handed over by the people are destined to be alienated into dirty power, the information is asymmetric, and the so-called democracy has also been secretly tricked into bed by politics.

Of course, this is still too simple.

People's pursuit of truth is like an addiction, and so am I. It seems to be the truth that I have been seeking for my whole life, why is it so important? Because it can bring you excitement and satisfy all the freshness and curiosity you need. When you turn to the other side of things and your cognition is subverted, it is really cool. That's why I say "unusual".

So I became interested in the prison. Within this high wall, there are many shrewd minds, the courage to try the law, and desperate desperadoes. When they get together, it should not be easy to manage.

The burning paper scattered outside the high prison walls is sympathy, and it is not difficult to show compassion for each other. What moved me the most was every parade and banner that empathy has enabled over the past fifteen years. This is something that will never be turned over in Chinese society. Who would "meddle with their own business" for a little sympathy?

Finally, there is the father.

Since the title has attracted our attention, two sentences must be mentioned. The father in the film, like our parents, never praises us, only notices our mistakes. All of them are qualified adults, obediently obeying the words of the years, forgetting all the youthful and reckless old things, and reciting the so-called "loyal words" in their mouths. No matter what era or country it is, children are always rebellious, parents are always laborious, and all understanding and forgiveness will come late.

It was late at night, so I stopped writing.

In the Name of the Father quotes

  • [after hearing of his father's death]

Gareth Peirce: [With tears in her eyes] Well, I think they ought to take the word 'compassion' out of the English dictionary.

  • Gerry Conlon: I'll be older than you when I get out of this place. If I get out. Are you listening to me?

Giuseppe Conlon: I'm not talking to you.

Gerry Conlon: Now who's being childish?

Giuseppe Conlon: I've not heard a sensible word out of you in two weeks. That stuff will kill you.

    [talking about drugs]

Gerry Conlon: Sure I'm dead anyway. Look I'm sorry. I'll not take it again as long as you live. Are you happy now?

    Giuseppe Conlon: No.

    Gerry Conlon: Why not?

Giuseppe Conlon: I don't want you to take it whether I live or die.

Gerry Conlon: Oh, give me strength. Ok, I'll do nothing to annoy you in your grave. Now are you happy?

Giuseppe Conlon: Is that a promise?

    Gerry Conlon: Ay, maybe.
