High school students' perceptions

The proletariat is indeed the easiest to incite, and this is one of the reasons for its oppression; the lack of destruction of construction is no different from hooliganism, and this film confirms this again.

Regrettably, however, the discussion of capitalists' oppression of laborers and how the proletariat should change its status quo has become an appendage to the hero and heroine's love story; the film's analysis of the core political issues gives way to the two Emotional sublimation.

"The mind and the limbs need the heart to coordinate", how does this sentence make the two sides in the struggle finally shake hands in front of the hero and heroine? What did they both want to understand? What concessions did they each make? These questions are not explained, so the final theme expression seems to be a lot frivolous.

In addition, in the climax of the whole film "Uprising" and the parts after it, the leader of the Metropolis is seriously dwarfed or even absent. In the face of the political crisis, the leaders did not take any action, and the metropolis seemed to be a city without violent institutions; and in the face of his son's dangerous situation, the father, who was once majestic and somewhat cunning, was now like a child, appearing cowardly. Overwhelmed, these issues lead to an imbalance in the dramatic structure of the film's final scene.

However, it is understandable that the film's imagination and spectacle effects are not bad today, and it is worth watching by everyone. People's minds are always ahead of technology; the cities in the film, today, still belong to the future.

145 points version. It is not difficult to have unrealistic "fantasies", but turning "fantasies" into reality requires not only courage and wisdom, but also technology. Now it seems a little cliché of justice over evil, the ruling class and the working class shaking hands with each other, and the happy ending of sweet love, especially the main theme. However, this does not affect the black and white silent film as radiant as its poster.

It was shot in the 20s, it's amazing, but it's also a typical example of central conflict
