Rock is a spirit, a gesture, it is by no means the exaggeration shown in "Rock Age". The most disappointing thing about "Rock Age" is this. It is neither an elegy to rock nor a cult of rock, it is just a youth love movie with a rock coat.
The story of "Rock Age" is actually not rock and roll at all. The young man with dreams falls in love in a foreign land. An accidental misunderstanding makes the two travel separately. In the end, they are able to let go and continue their forefront. This is the main line of the story, plain and fresh. It is horrifying, there is no major conflict, no major ups and downs, the two young people just want to stay together for a while. But this movie star is not a youth film similar to "High School Musical", this kind of storytelling is a bit too foolish for the audience.
So the movie started with the idea of star and rock. To be honest, Tom Cruise's bond with rock is quite exciting. After all, an old man of 50 took advantage of his career rejuvenation. How could he choose one that was not satisfactory. The role of it. Indeed, Cruise in "Rock Age" is indulging in nudity, vulgarity, eroticism, arrogance, and exaggerated things in his hands, intended to let the audience experience the crazy life of rock stars, but this The experience is really external, not recognized by rock fans, nor can it be seen by ordinary audiences. The Cruise in the movie is too loud. Even if the director deliberately puts a self-seeking process for this role, neither motivation nor self-reflection is strong enough.
