A science fiction film from Australia. The protagonist Gray and his girlfriend Elsa were attacked by gangsters. The gangster killed Elsa, but let Gray survive, leaving him a paralyzed body. With the help of tech genius Allen, Gray implanted the artificial intelligence chip STEM in his brain. STEM has allowed Gray to regain his mobility, and even gain superhuman strength, speed, and observation, as well as being able to connect to various online resources, making him superhuman. With the help of STEM, Gray finds the gangster and gradually gets closer to the truth of the matter.
It is called a science fiction film because the film does not have gorgeous special effects and grand scenes, but wins with smallness and delicacy. It is said to be small because the film only focuses on the issue of artificial intelligence's control and erosion of people, which clearly shows the main creator's skeptical and vigilant attitude towards artificial intelligence. It is exquisite because it uses limited special effects on the blade, and smoothly demonstrates Gray's process of artificial intelligence from rejection to acceptance to dependence, from unfamiliar to familiar to out of control.
There are different opinions on this question as to how to take an attitude of artificial intelligence. The film clearly puts forward its own views, and uses a short and concise story to prove it. I don't quite agree with this pessimistic view, but it doesn't affect my conclusion that this film is a good sci-fi film.
