Disappointing Racing 2

This is Pixar's worst film. After hesitating between "Kung Fu Panda 2" and "Racing 2" for a long time, I finally chose the racing car. I've never been disappointed by a single movie, but this time I was really disappointed. The previous Pixar films were all smiles from the beginning. Not only did they laugh, they tricked me into tears twice. No matter how much doubt I had before the opening, I laughed right after the opening. It's a pity that the second car is really. ....

maybe part of the blame lies in the English voice but I think the Up and Toy Story 3 I watched earlier were also in English without any difficulty and I liked them both. I also basically understood the plot of Racing 2 this time. Of course, I must have missed some jokes, but even so, I don’t think there should be so few laughs. There are not too many laughs from the beginning to the end. I almost laughed in total. 10 times or so, too few.

The graphics are still as beautiful and well-made as ever, but the graphics party should watch Transformers 3 (no one will complain about the plot, Transformers never has a plot and doesn't need a plot), come to Pixar comrades, who doesn't want to have a laugh from the opening scene After the show, a film that cannot be laughed at is a failure, and it has nothing to do with how beautiful the picture is.

Because of the success of Toys 3. I had no doubts about the sequels at all, the rule that sequels are bad movies doesn't seem to work for Pixar, but Cars 2 really disappointed me.

Damn I watched the 3D version and didn't feel it at all. Might as well watch the 2D version, the glasses are uncomfortable. The 3D effect is really unnecessary for cartoons, and I will definitely not watch 3D cartoons in the future. There is also an advertisement at the beginning of the 3D remake of The Lion King. It looked good at the time, but after watching Racing 2, I felt that Disney was really insincere, so I knew it was stealing money.

Checking imdb back, the rating of Racing 2 is really low, 6.6 points. Kung Fu Panda 2 has a score of 7.8, hey, even if Pixar's existence like a god in my heart is completely ruined. The reason I can think of is not that Jiang Lang's talents are exhausted, but that he is eager for quick success.

2010, ToyStory3, 8.6 points
2009, Up, 8.3 points
2008, Wall-E, 8.5 points
2007, Ratatouille, 8.1 points
2006, Car, 7.4 points
2004, The Incredibles, 8.1 points
2003, Finding Nemo, 8.2 points
2001, Monsters, Inc. 8.0 points
1999, Toy Story 2, 8.0 points
1998, A Bug's Life, 7.3 points
1995, ToyStory, 8.2 points

to see no, the score of Racing 2 is really unprecedentedly low, I am not alone in feeling it is bad. Of course I'm still a little surprised by Car and A Bug's Life's scores, which are a bit low. . . Interestingly, A Bug's life was rated as the most helpful review at 10, while Cars 2 was rated as the most helpful review at 3. . .

In the review "Such a disappointment" on IMDB, the author wrote:

“This brings up a question: why would Pixar choose to revisit the only film they have produced which could conceivably be called a failure? Lasseter is on record as saying that the company would only explore sequels to their films if a good story could be developed , and the level of quality of the two Toy Story sequels seems to back up this sentiment, but it's hard to believe that anyone would think the script of Cars 2 is worthy of that high standard. Interestingly, there is one other way that Cars stands apart from other Pixar films: the estimated $8 billion merchandising revenues. While all Pixar films have profited from merchandising, none have had the global appeal of Cars. It's upsetting to think that Pixar, a company who seemed previously to place greater importance on the quality of its films than the bottom line, have gone for the easy cash grab, but there really seems to be no other reason for the existence of Cars 2. Everything about the films seems designed to increase the potential for selling merchandise, whether it's the films global locations which panda to international audiences, or the increasingly ridiculous characters and set-pieces, tailor made to be toys and video games. It's a cynical opinion, one which I had hoped I'd never feel towards a Pixar film, but it is undeniably true: Cars 2 is a film created not as an artistic endeavour, but to feed ancillary markets.”or the increasingly ridiculous characters and set-pieces, tailor made to be toys and video games. I originally wanted to translate it, but I didn't like such a bad article. Those who want to read it should translate it by themselves.

The part that disappointed me the most was the ending. Pixar's animations have always been known for their imagination, always keeping me guessing what's going to happen next. But the ending of Racing 2 is simply a copy of 007. It is the culmination of 007. From the moment when the trailer was caught, I started to dream. It is very similar to the 007 bridge. The plot is abrupt and unreasonable. If you look at it as a 007 movie, it will It doesn't hurt, because 007's audience is all there to see how 007 uses wit and high-tech weapons to thwart insidious but extremely unlucky villains again and again no one cares if the plot is too coincidental, but racing 2 you do it like this is completely wrong . A few parodies can make me laugh, but 15 minutes is too much. When you see the trailer, regardless of whether Mr. Spy and Miss Spy are alive or dead, you drive away first, and when you see the bloody section of lightning chasing the trailer, and when you see the trailer suddenly change from a funny idiot to a reasoning expert, if you arrange a trailer (our 007) and It's perfect for the villains to fight each other with tires (fists). And at the end of the 15-minute-long, bloody end, Pixar was too busy to schedule a laugh; except for the fact that the bomb was out of range and made me laugh a bit. Even the trailer's dreaming section is uninteresting. Of course, this section is to pave the way for how Conan the Detective was born, but is this third-rate section really made by Pixar?
