Therefore, every time a play about Sherlock Holmes is staged, I never put my hope on reasoning. Holmes is a smart man himself. Holmes and Watson are a good pair. This is what I pay more attention to. Partner means spark and cooperation. As for reasoning, more often than not, it has been abdicated as some background factors that set off the character's image.
So let's talk about the problem of partner and spark.
Continue to talk back to Grandpa Le Carré, who claims to have created two of Smalley and Gillum in accordance with the model of Holmes and Watson. If the potsmith himself is a living example, then Holmes has inspired too many partners. The genres of the previous works are often different." From the novel. From movies, TV series and even animation, it is an absolute adaptation, and the genre has become almost the same. But the subject matter does not necessarily change-at least we can see the shadow of the original work to some extent, that is to say, the core of the original work is still there.
Take the crushing adaptation of "Un-Go" for example. The time change spans hundreds of years-from the Meiji era to the postwar near future; the character setting is completely reversed-the cause and effect range from the uncle playwright in the original to the monster girl in the animation, and Hu Shanquan from the metamorphosis of the Kai Budokan in the original The capable policewoman in the animation; the story is completely overturned in detail-the original non-existent Sasakakaze has changed his name, and with the real image, it turned out to be artificial intelligence. The causal solving of the case is not reasoning, but the truth is obtained by abilities. However, if you compare it with "An Wu Catching Object Post", you can still see the obvious shadow: the context of the case basically follows the original work, and the interaction between Hushan, Yucheng, and Haisheng perfectly corresponds to the original text of Quanshan, Yucheng and The relationship between Shenghai and the discussion of the most fundamental and inner human nature have never been lost. Whether it is reading the book or watching the animation first, there will be no discomfort. In this way, even if it is a crushing adaptation, it is not a bad one.
Let's draw a comparison between the novel party and the drama party with a little contradiction-"Detective Galileo". The biggest change is to change Yukawa’s assistant, Yukawa’s college friend Toshihira Kusana, to Shinza’s younger sister, Utsumi Kaoru, and add the line of emotion between Yukawa and Uchikai. Other than that, the case is basically the same as the original. In a sense, this change is much smaller than the CBS version of Sherlock Holmes, but this drama not only caused some discomfort for the novel party [including me], even the original author, Keigo Higashino, when he accepted the adaptation. It seems reluctant. Why? Because the spark has been replaced-the seamless cooperation and complaints built on the deep friendship for more than ten years have been completely overturned, replaced by the idea of a second girl's love, and the connotation of Tang Chuan has also been weakened a lot. Become a relatively flat-looking image of being handsome. Once the spark that originally existed between the two protagonists was pulled away, even if the case remained basically the same, it could not be said to be an excellent adaptation. Of course, Fukuyama and Shibasaki made up for the shortcomings of the adaptation to a large extent.
But these adaptations are at least based on one point, that is, they still have a grasp of the context of the original case. If you completely abandon the context of the original work and instead make up your own story, then even if you apply the character design, it can't be said to be a good adaptation-it's not even an adaptation, it can only be an AU fan.
What I want to say, in fact, it is almost here, but in order to prevent someone from yelling and failing to understand, I am particularly noble and glamorous, and then list my complaints:
First, for those who say that they see Sherlock Holmes for reasoning, I personally recommend that you go to Shoji Shimada’s "Slanting House Crime" or Yusukawa Yusu’s "Chamber No. 46" to change your mind, or take a look. The Lulu sister series is not bad either. People with different worldviews not only have no way to fall in love, but also seem to have difficulty watching dramas together. Say the BBC reasoning plot is weak? That's because the reasoning plot of the original book itself is not very strong. Third, it is tolerable to talk about AU, sex change, era changes, and personality changes, but all adaptations that do not take care of the original work in the adaptation plot are playful! ! ! flow! ! !
