I cried until I lost my temper at the theater today. Although the audience left after less than half an hour of The Tree of Life, I think it's because they haven't been able to connect with Terrence Malik's point of view and feeling; it's not anyone's fault, it's just the frequency of each other is wrong.
On the surface, the tree of eternal life is talking about the process of a boy growing up, but more importantly, it is full of emotions, feelings, humanity and more love behind it. Terrence Malick used poetry and allegory to make a movie. The impact of the movie viewing brought by the tree of eternal life is generational. No director dares to make a movie in this way; this makes me feel that it is not just a movie A movie is a poem instead. What you see is not the picture, but the sound, and more things behind it.
The Tree of Eternal Life is of course an art film, but the words he said are not the subject of the creator's self-indulgence, but a reflection that we all experience or feel more or less; Many philosophies and emotions, but he enriches the good and evil of your life.
The director created a new generation of genres, taking the film to a higher level in the artistic stage. After reading it, you will involuntarily imagine, think, and try to recall the pain, sadness, and beauty in your life, all of which will overlap with those sights and sounds in your heart. Then you go back to the origin, and then you rediscover yourself and make a revolution.
