A girl who stands behind the Danish girl

Einar and Lili tore inside the same body.
The wife becomes the husband's support, while the wife loses her lover.
Seeing that Gerda Zhang Huang was at a loss, but had to go back to her husband to comfort and encourage him, she felt distressed.
When Lili first arrived, Einar could still retain what was left of his emotions, his consciousness. But in the second half of the movie, Lili has completely occupied Einar's body. Lili finally broke through the shackles, and came in a menacing manner. Einar was totally irresistible. He started enjoying everything about women and hating everything about being a man.
She said that marriage can create another person, but in his marriage, the other person is not a child, but Lili, Gerda helped him inspire his inner self. Lili said that it must be bad not to get married, maybe it is thanks to this marriage that she has found herself and that she has been resurrected from the depths of Einar's soul. More to thank for the presence of his wife Gerda.
Gerda's downfall, the trembling of her voice, her fragility as a woman, wanting her husband's shoulders, but never having it again. All this is distressing. When she went to Hans, everything was going so naturally, she needed a strong hug. But the feelings for her husband still exist and are strong. She was also in a confused, bewildered situation.
Lili tried to change back to Einer, but some things just couldn't go back.
As a wife, Gerda finally accepts the fact that her husband is inherently a woman. How lucky is Einer to have a wife like this, and to have a young Hans who supports him, and to meet a doctor with a very cutting-edge scientific vision.
Lili said that you made me strong, while Gerda made her strong, she kept making her heart strong enough to accept the fact that her husband was about to disappear from the world. Strong To watch her husband become the first transgender person in history.
(Lili is charming every time she blinks her eyes hard.)
It was cruel to Gerda for Lili to say that Einar was dead, she had been trying to digest it, but Lili went to poke the scar. Lili said that before you took care of me, now I have to take care of myself. (The judgment here may be a bit sentimental and biased) But all along, with the full love for Einar, even though she is reluctant, she is also kind to Lili without hesitation. Now that she can be strong and don't want Gerda, Lili said she wants a life of her own, and so do you. Indeed, Gerda needs to live a good life for herself. Perhaps the reason for these remarks is that there is some hope that Gerda will come out of the past.
Seeing Lili and Henrich's intimacy, Gerda's heart throbbed and her eyes turned red.
I especially hope that Gerda can be with Hans, that Hans can give her a warm hug, make her a little woman, understand her difficulties, and tell her that everything is okay.
Gerda is my favorite in the whole movie. She has lived herself as two people. This kind of two people is not like Lili and Einar. She takes on the double responsibility of wife and husband and is strong alone.
Lili fulfilled her wish before she died, and all the hardships were left to Gerda to bear, or maybe not, Gerda was free, and watching her beloved achieve her wish should probably be very happy.
The movie finally returns to where it was originally drawn by Einar. The silk scarves fluttered in the wind and drifted to a free distance. Gerda finally burst into tears, too.

The Danish Girl quotes

  • Dr. Hexler: Tell me about Lili... Where did she come from?

    Einar Wegener: Inside of me.

  • Gerda Wegener: It's hard for a man to be looked at by a woman. Women are used to it, of course, but for a man to submit to a woman's gaze - it's unsettling. Although I believe there's some pleasure to be had from it, once you yield.
