The first season was good overall, but when I think about the treatment of female characters, I'm very angry.
All female characters are tools and backdrops, fringe groups. I've been pissed since Elle got stuck on the train. When Uncle Hotch was in the same room with the prisoner, he successfully assisted Reid in killing the criminal. Elle could only stare at the prisoner, and was accused: You are useless here, your only role is to give this bastard an extra gun. I'm pissed off seeing this. It is true that this prisoner is even more uncontrollable, and Elle is also very unlucky. She met the wrong person at the wrong time and the wrong place. It is not her fault that she can't help, but it gives the audience the feeling that she is useless. There is also to appease the families of the victims and worry about being in danger. JJ and Garcia only appear briefly when the plot calls for it, and it feels like two paper people. The last episode was even more fucked up. The technicians went to work and played games, and their own computer protection measures were simple. The screenwriter forced their wisdom. How could Garcia not think of what a hacker wanted? Her private computer was supposed to be as heavily armed as the FBI mainframe, contained within her invincible firewall. JJ has always been the leader's favorite subordinate, always on call when he needs it, and disappears when he doesn't need it (who said it wasn't Garcia)
The overall plot is great, but I don't think there is any room for women in this show, at least not in the first season. I've watched five or six episodes of the second season now, so I won't comment on others. There is one thing to say, the male-dominant thinking of straight male directors and the meaning of unconsciously ignoring women are at least the first season.
