"Fatal Video" is definitely one of the best horror pseudo-documentaries in these years.
Although the new shooting method is adopted, the genre of the movie still uses the paragraph-style routines of the previous B-level horror film "storytelling", such as "Ghost Show", "Yin Yang Road" and so on.
The movie is composed of a group of "new young directors" who are disturbing the harmonious society. They go to the haunted house to find the legendary video tape. Each short story is the video tape they watched in the haunted house.
And the horror they encountered in the haunted house became a story in the movie.
I like the first story better. It is the story of three young men in clubbing and batgirls. It is a classic routine of American youth horror films. This story is also one of the most exciting and intense in the movie. Especially the part where the man with glasses hanging from the bathroom crawls to the door, the final ending cannibal batwoman catches him and flies into the night sky, reminding me of "Scary Cannibal".
The next few stories are general, especially the story of two lesbians killing their boyfriends, which makes people feel more wordy. It would be even better if the face of one of the women was originally a wax mask.
The most frustrating thing about the story of the murderers who went on a field outing is that their deaths flashed in advance, and then the scenery in the outskirts was not beautiful enough, the lake was so dirty, and only filmmakers would jump down and swim happily. However, the bright spot is that the Murderer becomes Masek, but lacks surprises.
I still don’t understand the part of the "Doctor Man" and "Ghost Girl" video shooting the haunted house. Is the Doctor Man a ghost? Or is he and those little female ghosts aliens, doing experiments on humans? Solve.
"Halloween Night Exploring the Haunted House" is more interesting. The black handprints on the wall at the end of the escape, the door closed automatically, and the dishes floating in the air became Xiao Li's knife. Suddenly, dark hands appeared on the wall, which was more joyful. . It is similar to last year's "Graveyard Encounter", but without the horror of the latter.
Finally, they found that what was going on in the attic should be an "exorcism ritual", not an "exorcism ritual." The woman was possessed by a demon, so the few men who were exorcised were killed by mysterious powers and saved the woman. Of the three young men, it doesn’t matter much.
It wasn't until they all escaped the house that the witch successfully escaped the haunted house before cutting them out.
"Deadly Videotape" combines the various shooting methods and styles of horror pseudo-documentary films, so people who like to watch this type of film must be very addicted.
But I think this film does not make good use of the characteristics of the pseudo-documentary "DV shooting real events", and lacks the suffocation of "Smart: Ghost Record".
After watching it, I think carefully, these stories in the movie can be shot with wonderful effects using ordinary shooting methods, so this film seems a little bit of a feeling of form and form. (It is estimated that the director of "Death Video 3" had such an epiphany, so he abandoned the DV shooting style.)
In order not to let people have the idea of "how this fool is still shooting with DV", two of the stories simply set the male protagonist. They are wearing photography glasses.
But in any case, although this is a work of chasing the wind, it also provides a lot of bright spots that can be used for reference and beyond for future horror pseudo-documentaries.
Looking forward to the upcoming "Chernobyl Diaries" and "Smart: Ghost Record 4".
