Carrie the Witch, an old film produced in 1976, Stephen King's first novel on the screen.
Maybe it's just a prank of vain, ignorant high school girls, or so they think. However, no one would have imagined how much they paid for this prank.
Carrie, a high school girl with a Puritan mother, would even force Carrie to pray in solitary because of her menarche. She was seriously out of touch with the times and was bullied and discriminated against by the girls in her class. The only one who really helped her was her teacher Colin. She punished the female classmates who bullied Carrie and encouraged Carrie to cherish the chance to be invited to prom.
But this is where all the tragedies began. The trembling hands of the mischievous girl pulled down the rope, and a barrel of blood plasma that had been prepared was tilted down. The pink evening dress that Carrie sewed by herself was stained with blood. Mother's hysteria before leaving, Mr. Colin's gentle consolation, the mocking eyes of female classmates, the shocked expression of male partner Tommy... All kinds of pictures converged into out-of-control anger. Carrie in the raging fire is like a devil who came to the world from hell, walking home slowly with calm and light steps.
I think the symbolism of this movie is probably far more than the horror or horror of it. It has a strong religious connotation. Whether it is the existence and death of Carrie's mother, or the tragic death of Colin, the female teacher who helped Carrie, and the only surviving female classmate Su, each role plays a different symbolic meaning. Carrie is the devil who causes the original sin in people's hearts. Her mother is the preacher responsible for killing the devil, and the female teacher Colin is the innocent martyr. In the end, the devil and the preacher died in the prayer room together. All sins were burned clean by a fire.
On the surface, everyone is guilty, but sin does not lead to death. What caused their death can only be attributed to the original sin of all beings. According to this standard, everyone should pay with death. Even if you are kind to others and have a kind and considerate heart, you cannot escape the doom of fate. Therefore, death is probably God's forgiveness of the original sin of all living beings.
