"To Una"
My heart is like this face
Half pure white, half shaded
I can choose to let you see, or I can choose to insist on not letting you see
The world is like a giant circus, it excites you but terrifies me
'Cause I know it's always after
Limited warmth, unlimited bitterness
"Time is a great writer and it gives everyone the perfect ending."
On Chaplin's seventieth birthday, he wrote the poem "When I Really Began to Love Myself", which also allows us to see the comedy life he saw with long shots.
"When I Really Started Loving Myself"
As I began to love myself
When I really started to love myself,
I just realized,
All the pain and emotional torment,
All just remind me:
Live, don't go against your own heart.
I got it today, it's called
reality.
When I really started to love myself,
I just understand,
to impose one's wishes on others,
how rude,
Even if I know that the time is not ripe,
The man wasn't ready yet,
Even if that person is me,
I got it today, it's called
respect.
When I start to love myself,
I no longer desire a different life,
I know anything that happens to me,
Both are invitations to my growth.
Today, I call it
Mature.
When I started to truly love myself,
I no longer sacrifice my free time,
Stop sketching a grand tomorrow.
Today I only do things that are fun and happy,
Do what you love, what makes your heart happy,
In my way, in my rhythm.
I got it today, it's called
simple.
When I started to truly love myself,
I started to stay away from all unhealthy things.
Whether it is food and people, or things and circumstances,
I stay away from everything that keeps me away from what is authentic.
I used to call this "healthy selfishness",
But today I got it, it's
Self love.
When I started to truly love myself,
I no longer always think about being always right and not making mistakes.
I got it today, it's called
humble.
When I begin to truly love myself,
I no longer dwell on the past,
And no longer worry about tomorrow,
Now I only live in the moment when everything is happening,
Today, I live here and now,
So day after day. it's called
Perfect.
When I started to truly love myself,
I understand that my thinking makes me poor and sick,
But when I invoked the power of the mind,
Reason becomes an important companion,
I call this combination,
Wisdom of the heart.
We no longer need to be afraid of ourselves
disagreements, conflicts and problems with others,
For even the stars sometimes touch together,
form a new world,
Today I understand,
This is life.
