The origin of the enemy?

Adams and Anthony, one is dutiful, cowardly, and stable, the other is pompous, romantic, and arrogant.
Although it is a story of split personality, it left me with more thinking about personality.
In real life, we all have different labels, different circles of friends, different performances, and thus, different "personalities".
Many times, we force ourselves to live according to the expectations of others, go to a good university, find a good job, marry a gentle and virtuous woman, and be a competent husband and father.
But who doesn't have an arrogant and romantic "he" in his heart?
Adams is Anthony's old enemy, because Adams, Anthony can't live comfortably, can't pursue his own hobbies, can't seek flowers and ask willows during his wife's pregnancy, and can't express himself more.
And Anthony is also Adams' old enemy, because Anthony, Adams can only live in the expectations of others, living a boring life every day, even love is boring.

In fact, man is a complex complex. Oneself is the enemy of oneself, oneself is the worst enemy of oneself, this old enemy will always exist, and there will never be a day when someone dies. Even if he dies, it will only enter a new cycle...

Speaking of which, according to the usual thinking, there should be a solution or something. If you really think this way, it is too naive, because of the complexity and entanglement. It is the nature of human beings. The only thing we can do is to know ourselves and understand ourselves. At the fork in the road, we can think a little more: give ourselves a little more freedom and a little more space for our ideals.

Enemy quotes

  • Anthony: Control, it's all about control. Every dictatorship has one obsession and that's it. In ancient Rome they gave the people bread and circuses. They kept population busy with entertainment but other dictatorships used other strategies to control ideas, the knowledge... how do they do that? Lower education, they limit culture, censor information, they censor any means of individual expression and is important to remember this, that this is a pattern, that repeats itself through out history.

  • Teacher at School: Where There's a Will There's a Way.

    Anthony: It's true.

Teacher at School: No, it's a movie, I saw it a little while ago but um... I remember it was... I liked it.

    Anthony: Hmm. Where There's a Will There's a Way.

Teacher at School: Yeah, that's it. Local film, if you...

Anthony: I'll keep it in mind.
