Porter, who claims to be a K-PAX star visitor, is believed to be mentally ill and is being treated by Dr. Mark Powell. Dr. Mark tried his best to prove what Potter said was wrong, that K-PAX star does not exist. This is a classic, and currently there is no film of the same quality in our country.

Several things happened in the process. The first is Potter helping the mentally ill, telling everyone that he will take someone back to the K-PAX star. Howie accepted Potter's task, and the first task was to find a blue bird, the blue robin. Miraculously, this blue bird appeared. Another thing is that Porter leaves each patient with an assignment, which is to write why you are going to the K-PAX star, and ultimately it is Porter who decides who to take.

At the same time, Dr. Mark devoted himself to the treatment of Potter. From the questioning at the beginning, slowly to acceptance, and finally proving that Potter is a human being, the doctor has made great efforts. The doctor took Potter to see the astrophysicists, who asked Potter all kinds of questions, and Potter answered them perfectly. The most peculiar thing is that when they asked Porter to draw the orbit of K-PAX star, Porter drew it easily, and it was indistinguishable from their observations. This stunned the doctors.

One more thing, Dr. Mark invited Potter to his house. He took a cue from the time Porter gave him to figure out what really happened on "July 27" that Porter said five years ago. Potter first had a good time with Dr. Mark's dog, who could understand the dog's language. In addition, when he was on the swing with Dr. Mark's youngest daughter, the water from the water pipe came out, which triggered a huge reaction from Potter. People are puzzled.

Next, Dr. Mark performed hypnotherapy on Potter, hypnotizing him again and again, and finally let the doctor find out what happened that year and why Potter was so afraid of water. The doctor finds Potter's hometown and learns of the tragedy that happened that year. He thought he had found the truth, but Potter didn't think so.

When it was time to leave, the doctor rushed over. The monitoring signal disappeared for a short time, and no one knew what happened. However, Potter was still there and was already unconscious. Beth left. It is said that Beth was brought to K-PAX by Potter. Beth was not found anywhere. Dr. Mark understood everything.

It seems that the highest level of biological evolution is the retreat of the body and the transformation of a spiritual existence. Why can't we just relax a little and allow the whole world to exist in a space beyond our control? Let that which we cannot comprehend exist, as long as it is harmless...

There are a few points that I appreciate, but unfortunately they are too didactic, too popular, and not extraordinary enough~~ I love the collaboration between Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey~~

K-PAX quotes

  • Prot: I've been to 64 planets within our galaxy. Earth is the only one of your species, homo sapiens, that I visited so far.

Dr. Mark Powell: When did you arrive on Earth?

Prot: 4 years and 9 months ago.

Dr. Mark Powell: So that makes you how old?

Prot: In Earth terms, 337 years old. I aged about seven getting here traveling at about 6 multiples of c. But, really, Marko, it only seemed like an instant.

Claudia Villars: I'd say access 1 psychosis NOS.

Dr. Mark Powell: That's glib to call him a psychotic. That's a wastebasket diagnosis.

Claudia Villars: Well, he believes he traveled here from another planet. What's your diagnosis, jet lag?

Dr. Mark Powell: Well, how come he didn't respond to the Haldol?

Claudia Villars: Haldol can make you more psychotic. It's rare but it does happen.

Dr. Mark Powell: Look. I'm not saying that medication can't be a helpful tool to help somebody like this. But you can't...

Claudia Villars: In the meantime, we have 10 new transfers to take care of.

Dr. Mark Powell: Maybe, what's wrong with him, is that he is.

    Claudia Villars: [interrupting] Is what?

Dr. Mark Powell: ...from the planet K-PAX.

  • Dr. Mark Powell: It's one thing to take an interest in your fellow patients. It's quite another to make you think that you can cure them.

Prot: You seem overly upset, Mark. To borrow a phrase from Navarro: You need to chill. For your information: All beings have the capacity to cure themselves, Mark. This is something we've known on K-PAX for millions of years.

Dr. Mark Powell: Listen to me: On this planet: I'm a doctor, you're a patient.

Prot: Doctor, patient: Curious human distinction.

Dr. Mark Powell: It's not your job to cure Howie, or Ernie, or anyone else, it's mine

Prot: Then, why haven't you cured them, yet?

Prot: Oh, by the way, here are the answers to the questions you asked me. I hope they meet your satisfaction.
