"K Star Stranger" is a movie that is far from what I expected.
It's not that it's not good-looking, on the contrary, compared to the vulgar Hollywood blockbuster I expected, this one exceeded my expectations, but it was not as good as I thought it would be. Perhaps it was influenced by the novel about the Martian invasion of the earth when I was a child. When I first saw the name, I felt that this should be a thriller movie with sci-fi elements. At least one or two non-human alien images should appear. There are several visual effects. The scene is full, so it is worthy of the title of "foreign guest". Unexpectedly, this is a very light, cool and poetic sketch film without special effects.
In the crowded Central Hall of New York, for some reason, before the blink of an eye, a man with sunglasses appeared. The man claimed to be from K-PAX, which is 1,000 light-years away from the earth. He wears sunglasses because the light on the earth is too strong compared to K-PAX. Not surprisingly, the calm, seemingly normal man who claimed to be an alien visitor was admitted to the psychiatric center, and the story unfolded slowly ever since.
He claimed to be a visitor from the K-PAX star, and he could move in an instant by riding the beam, and it was only an instant from a distant planet 1,000 light-years away to the earth. Except for the doctor, it seems that the entire psychiatric center's patients believe this, but in the eyes of the attending doctor, he is only one of the most persuasive paranoia patients. What exactly is his identity, the audience and the doctor are confused.
However, that's not what the film really focuses on. The core of the film is to borrow the eyes of a thorough "foreigner" to re-examine and examine the intricate relationship between people, origin and belonging, missed opportunities and regrets, hope and redemption.
Casey Spike once again gave a god-level performance in the film, and a restrained, calm and warm alien figure stood. However, the sexual assault incident made me no longer have any good feelings for him. I admit that his acting skills are excellent, but he is no longer in the film industry, and I do not regret it.
