As stated in the play, what exactly we are, like ants, are controlled by higher creatures or powers and cannot see the truth. Whether it is good or evil, it is not up to us to decide. Even free will is just a lollipop to coax children, a rhetoric.
In our lives, we have succumbed, been possessed, and talked involuntarily, because we are faced with power, politics, speech, judgment, and even in the name of love that we fear. This is an infectious disease, we are willing to be infected; we acquiesce to be infected; we helplessly infect others, in order to survive for profit.
So the devil feasts on it, we are no longer qualified to fight.
We have lost our strength because we have never been truly upright.
