Just a movie star

I have seen a lot of Forest Whitaker's plays in the past, and the ones that impressed me the most were the phone booth and a blue dragon that reflected Vietnamese refugees. This is a typical man with introverted acting skills. When Amin appeared on the scene, he just took the actor in line with the call.
The movie is really not worthy of a big book. From the performance point of view, only Forest Whitaker himself has some brilliance. The structure of the entire film is also chaotic, and the starting point is actually problematic in my opinion.
It's not that you can't talk about Amin and Uganda in a different way, but do you have to use the feeling of a white Scottish person? Let's talk about that poor Ugandan doctor.
Typical Hollywood style, so the movie did not give Forest Whitaker more space to express it.

The Last King of Scotland quotes

  • Idi Amin: You see. You are a doctor and a philosopher. Yes, I do have a good life now. Please, please. Sit here. I come from a very poor family, I think you should know this. My father left me when I was a child. The British Army; became my home. They took me as a cleaner, in the kitchens, cleaning pots. They used to beat me.

    [imitating British]

Idi Amin: "Beat this wall, Amin." "Dig the latreen, Amin." And now, here I am. The President of Uganda. And who put me here, huh? It was the British.

  • Idi Amin: Before I forget, I need to ask you a favor.

    Nicholas Garrigan: Anything.

Idi Amin: I will be in Libya next week, and I need you to attend a meeting in my place.

Nicholas Garrigan: What kind of meeting?

Idi Amin: A simple matter of taste and common sense. I cannot think of anyone better than you.
