When I first saw the title of this film, I thought it was about the last emperor of Scotland. It was later found out that it was actually the dictator General Idi Amin Dada Oumee of Uganda (UGANDA). Once called "King of Scots" (origin, I don't know)
Because I want to know more about history, I want to watch all the films about history.
In this movie, when the doctor entered Uganda, I felt a little terrifying shadow.
When the doctor killed the cow, there was actually a foreshadowing. The momentary change in his face made people's hearts sway down.
The second foreshadowing in the back is that when Amin asked the doctor to be his full-time doctor, the scene where he refused also made people feel sweaty.
Several parts of the film reveal Amin's brutality to the doctor through other people's spoken language: for example, what people in the store said when making suits; for example, other people's warnings in the hospital;
according to me, I couldn't watch such a film , feel more boring. But after I feel that I have a certain historical background, I will have this desire to watch it, and I want to know where he actually came from. I
haven't finished it yet, and then I will look down, hehe~

The Last King of Scotland quotes

  • Sarah Merrit: I hope you don't mind me saying this, but, you seem an unlikely candidate for this kind of work.

    Nicholas Garrigan: Why, 'cause I don't wear socks and sandals?

    Sarah Merrit: Touché.

    Nicholas Garrigan: I still want to make a difference, you know.

    Sarah Merrit: Really?

    Nicholas Garrigan: Yes, really. Want to have fun, too, though. Bit of adventure. Something different.

    Sarah Merrit: That's a lot of things.

    Nicholas Garrigan: Is it?

  • Idi Amin: You see, Jonah? This is the sort of man a president needs around him. Someone who is not afraid to speak his mind.
