Some people commented that this is the most Hitchcock film not directed by Hitchcock, but I hope that the film can be interpreted by Billy Wilder. Of course, Stanley Donen has done a good job, and the 2002 remake was a nightmare.
The second largest American actor, 59-year-old Cary Grant, and the third-largest actress, 34-year-old Audrey Hepburn, were both nominated for the Golden Globes for this film. This is the fifth nomination of the former in six years, but unfortunately it still missed it. Although the latter did not get it, it won the BAFTA. In general, Hepburn's performance is indeed better. After all, Grant is old. Although his demeanor is still the same, he is obviously unable to let go of the 25-year-old MM; in another three years, he will die.
Universal forgot to mark the copyright symbol when distributing the film, and it became the property of the public domain. This is undoubtedly good news for movie fans, who can taste classics more unscrupulously.
