Box office does not equal quality

Since the "Lord of the Rings" series, New Line has not made a lot of money-maker films. This time, it took another classic science fiction novel, "Dark Matter", to create another trilogy box office myth. Who would have thought that the first episode of "The Golden Compass" suffered by Hua Tielu at the box office and made a loss-making business that could not make ends meet. In fact, I personally think that the sci-fi scenes and images of spirit beasts in "Yellow" are still eye-catching. The performance can also pass the test. It may be that the atmosphere is not noisy enough and everyone's aesthetic fatigue of magic films has caused the end of the first episode of "Dark Matter".

It's so awkward to see 007 and Nicole in this movie...

Anyone experimenting with kids should die ten thousand times. In fact, the movie's world view and spiritual setting are very good, but the plot ends before it can start, and there is no climax throughout the story. Poor New Line Pictures was dragged down like this, and the sequel was completely pornographic...

The Golden Compass quotes

  • Lee Scoresby: That's a mighty fancy clockwork you got there.

Lyra Belacqua: [puts away the alethiometer] It's just a toy.

Lee Scoresby: Well, then, it's a mighty fancy toy. How'd you come by somethin' like that.

Hester: Oh, Lord, Lee when you gonna learn to mind your own business?

  • Lord Asriel: [as she slaps the glass of wine down to the floor] Lyra!

    Lyra Belacqua: It's poisoned.

    Lord Asriel: Nonsense.

Lyra Belacqua: It ain't nonsense. I saw that man from the magisterium pour some powder into the wine.

Lord Asriel: [looks down and heard voices] Go back in there. Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut. Go on.
