"The English Patient" Pull Notes

Part1:

A dark brush draws on the paper. As the film progresses slowly, we see a portrait unfolding in front of us. The portrait is simple and seems to be swimming and moving. As the portrait is drawn, what follows is a dissolving shot. (Note: The transitions between scenes in this film are the same as in The Godfather, all by editor Walter Murch.) Most of the transitions throughout the film are in this way.

doubt:

1. What is the image at the beginning? What does it mean?

Part2:

A vast expanse of desert appeared before us, followed by a plane flying in the air. In front of the plane was a woman with her eyes closed, and in the back seat was a pilot.

The first thing that catches our eyes here is a panoramic view from above. We see an airplane flying in the air, and then the camera zooms in to give us a close-up view, so that we can see who is on the plane. There are two characters here, but we still don't know who they are?

doubt:

1. Who are these two people? what is the relationship?

2. Why fly over the desert?

Part3:

The plane flying in the air was attacked by ground shells, and the plane crashed? Then there's a blank slate.

When the plane crashes, our first reaction is what happened to the people on the plane?

doubt:

1. What happened to the two people on the plane?

Part4:

The train was running on the railway, and a nurse came to the bed of a soldier who was injured in the leg and came to ask about the situation. The young soldier wanted a kiss from the beautiful nurse, but the nurse first politely refused, and the soldier asked again with sincere eyes. The nurse gave the soldier a kiss.

This clip is the first dialogue in the film, and we can learn a lot from the clip and the dialogue.

1. This story takes place during a time of war.

2. She is a nurse by profession.

3. The nurse is a kind-hearted person, because most women won't respond to a man's kiss request. (Pay attention to this kindness, because she is the essence of the heroine's character, and subsequent developments are related to this).

doubt:

1. Who is this nurse?

2. Where is the war being fought and what is the specific context, World War I or World War II? .....

Part5:

A plane crashed in the desert, the plane is still smoking, this is a long-term view. An old man held a pin hoop (metal ornament) in his hand, and a young man in the distance walked towards the old man with a book in his hand. A man with a severely disfigured face was rescued, his face covered with a rag, a camel on a camel, gasping for breath as he walked.

This scene is an answer to the previous plane crash scene. The question is answered, but a new question arises. A movie that people can watch must have the main characters, events, and environments established in the first 30 minutes. In addition to throwing questions to the audience, the questions revolve around this story line. Now is still the time to build the framework for the storyline.

information:

1. The disfigured man was the pilot of the previous plane.

2. The hoops and books are the belongings of this man.

3. The pilot (man) was rescued.

doubt:

1. What is his identity?

2. What about the women on the plane? (Is it dead?)

3. Although he was rescued, we don't know how long he can live.

Part6:

In the medical barracks, the nurse and her friend on the train in front were on their way to donate blood. A doctor on the next bed was bandaging a soldier's wound. The soldier asked the doctor if he had any people from his hometown because he missed his hometown. The nurse who donated blood next door heard it, got up and asked which army the soldier belonged to, and learned that her boyfriend was also in that army. The nurse asked the soldier about her boyfriend, but learned that her boyfriend had died. The nurse was very sad. At this time, the bomb attacked, and the doctor called her name and hugged her to the ground.

information:

1. The nurse's name is Hannah and answered the question on the name above.

2. Her boyfriend just died, and she must be very sad (Ps: This is the departure of Hannah No. 1's relatives ).

3. She should be chatting with her better friends.

doubt:

There are no more glaring issues here.

Part7:

On the edge of a cave with a water source, the English patient was put down and treated by an exotic old man with a medicine bottle on his back.

Here go to the next scene, (note that the picture transition used here is still dissolve). In October 1944, the disfigured pilot was recuperating here.

A soldier asked questions about the pilot's identity. The soldier asked who he was, and he replied that the plane had crashed, possibly the pilot. When the soldier asked where he was from, he got a little angry and asked Hannah (who was here at this time) for a glass of water. The following words were like self-questioning and self-answering. He said that he did not remember some things clearly, and he said that he remembered a lot of things. These things are remembering that she has a garden (note her here), and the garden is facing the sea. France seems to be in sight, and the garden should belong to his wife (he is married?). His entire body had been scorched, and so were his lungs, there was not much left. Faced with this wondering some questions are helpless.

analyze:

The time and place of the opening chapter have already been told, and through these we can know the story that happened in the context of World War II.

This line of A. Hannah and the patient is happening in Italy.

B. Then there is the dialogue. We don't know whether the patient really doesn't remember or pretends not to remember, but through the dialogue, we know that there is always a woman in his mind, probably his wife, the The wife's family background may not be bad, because she has a garden.

C. In addition, we know that the patient's physical condition is quite bad, the whole body has been scorched, and there are not many lungs that can only breathe.

D. There is another detail. When the patient is drinking water, his eyes are a little different when he looks at Hannah. At this point we should be able to see that the protagonists of the story are the patient and Hannah.

information:

1. The patient's condition is serious and the condition is not optimistic.

2. He may have lost his memory.

3. There is a very important lady in the patient's life.

4. His identity is under suspicion.

doubt:

1. What is his real identity and who is the woman in his memory? How is the relationship between them? (For this patient, full of curiosity)

Part8:

Hannah, who was caring for him, apologised as the patient was moved to a car, which was bumping along the way. At this time, a motorcycle came towards their car, and the woman Jane in the car (the one who donated blood together, her friend) asked her to borrow money to buy silk scarves, and Hannah borrowed it. Jane's car drove fast, walked ahead, through a minefield, and crashed. Despite the danger, Hannah ran straight away, but was desperately stopped by her comrades.

Two people were in charge of clearing mines ahead and eliminating danger. Hannah was still moving forward alone. She looked at the ground and just wanted to pick up Jane's bracelet.

analyze:

At this point, it can be determined that Hannah is responsible for taking care of the patient.

A. Expressing apology for the bumps on the road shows that she is kind-hearted and has strong empathy (pay attention to kindness, her behavior once again confirms her character).

B. Her friend borrowed money from her, and she agreed without hesitation. Here, it is through Jane's mouth that she is a soft-hearted girl.

C. She was deeply distressed by the death of her friend, and rushed into the minefield regardless of the danger, just to pick up her bracelet, after all, it was the only thing she had left. It can be seen from this that Hannah cherishes this friendship very much. She enters the minefield and ignores her life and death, which shows that she is still a brave person.

D. Here's another little detail, Jane doesn't have money, but Hannah does, does that mean she's still a budget-conscious girl. In the words of now, she knows how to manage money and take precautions before it happens. The following stories can reflect this quality of her.

information:

1. Hannah is solely responsible for patient care.

2. The departure of a friend (the second person lost, the first person is her boyfriend, as mentioned earlier).

3. The appearance of new characters, two people responsible for mine clearance.

doubt:

Nothing stands out about this.

Part9:

The car stopped and the patient was being carried out because she was uncomfortable. Hannah looked visibly irritable and impatient when her colleague came over to comfort her.

Hannah: Are you in pain? what do you need?

patient: yes

Hannah: Okay

Go over and take out the medicine (the details here, she looks impatient, but she still takes out morphine, why take out morphine, here we throw a question first)

Colleagues came to comfort her

Colleague: How are you?

Hannah: He's dying. What's the use of moving him around? (Her sentence was interrupted by her colleague, showing the escalation of her inner anxiety at this time)

Colleague: Do you want to leave him behind?

Hannah: No, I'm not leaving him

analyze:

The car stopped because the mine was clearing ahead, and the car was bumpy all the way, and the patient must be uncomfortable.

A. Note that this is where Hannah first found out that the patient was wrong, and then asked him. Although she felt uncomfortable at this time, she still did not forget to care for the patient. No matter if it's her responsibility as a nurse or anything else, at least in her heart, she cares about this patient.

B. We can clearly feel Hannah's dissatisfaction in this conversation, even though she says why she doesn't leave the patient behind, but turning her head, we see her preparing medicine. It is not good to say dissatisfied words, but the actual actions are really honest. There is no doubt that this medicine is prepared for the patient, because she just said that she is not feeling well.

C. The following sentence "i do not mean leave him", here is leave, which can more accurately express that Hannah does not intend to leave him.

To sum up, Hannah was out of control here, and it was not her intention to say such a thing. Because of the departure of the relatives around her one after another, she was looking for a breakthrough in her broken emotions. Unfortunately, the injured patient was shot.

Part10:

Hannah walked to the patient's side, and her emotions were much relaxed at the moment, and her inner emotions calmed down. Hannah confided her inner grief to the patient. She felt cursed, and loved ones left her one after another. In the gap between the words, I looked up and looked into the distance, I saw a tower test building, and I looked at it twice in a row.

analyze:

Here I notice a detail. The second time Hannah asked the patient if she was cursed, the patient slowly stretched out his fist and encouraged her, and Hannah responded gently.

doubt:

Hannah looked at the tall building in the distance, and watched it twice (the use of repeated scenes in the film is often used to highlight), and the director increased the audience's curiosity through this set of repeated shots.

So, does Hannah have any plans?

What is the purpose of her view of high-rise buildings?

Part11:

The next day Hannah came to the vicinity of the high-rise building to find out. Entering from the front door was a barren garden with a water pool in the garden. This high-rise building is in ruins, and the entrance door is blocked. Although it is dilapidated, there are still many books scattered on the ground, and there is also a toppled piano. There happened to be an empty room upstairs, Hannah looked at it, and there was an empty bed with a mattress.

He explained the situation to the accompanying troops, he said that he would return to the team when the patient died, and his superior also explained to her where the troops were going. Hannah needs a lot of morphine and a pistol.

The sick were carried into the monastery and placed on beds. The patient was humming songs on the bed.

After everyone left, she went upstairs to change out of her military uniform and cut her hair short. Relying on the window to watch the troops go away.

analyze:

A. Hannah went to inspect the specific situation of this high-rise building on the second day. Here, it shows that she is a strong executive and is willing to take practical actions to find the answer to the confusion in her heart.

B. entered the monastery and found a place where the patient could be placed, so he immediately decided to stay here, and asked for a large amount of morphine and a pistol. Here you can see her bravery and wit.

① She knew that it would be inconvenient to walk with a large army with such a patient.

②Hannah's needs (morphine and pistol) are two important items, morphine is used to relieve the patient's pain, and the pistol is used to protect herself at a critical moment. She has already considered the problems she may face in such a difficult environment.

C. As soon as the troops left, she wrote down the uniform minus the hair, and I think her move has two meanings.

① She dislikes war, and the military uniform represents war.

② An expression of Hannah's own free character.

D. The patient hummed a song below to express his inner joy at this time, because the long-term "no permanent residence" has finally settled down.

information:

Much of this episode is an answer to the previous question.

doubt:

1. We still do not know the identity of the patient and the story that happened to him.

Part12:

Hannah excitedly carried books to build stairs, and went back upstairs to make the bed for the patient. The patient asked her what she was doing. She mentioned some books, and the patient asked her to bring some books and read them to him. Hannah asked where his book was, and he mentioned his own history book. Hannah brought it to him, as well as the plums picked in the orchard, Hannah looked excited. When the patient talked about the history book, Hannah said she didn't understand anything. She peels the plums and feeds them into the patient's mouth. The patient chewed gently, and the plumber was plump and plump.

In the monastery yard, Hannah bathes in the open-air bath.

The patient on the bed looked at the book on the side, reached out and flipped through it, flipping to the page of the Christmas paper, the book overturned on the ground. There are cards, papers, photos... scattered all over the place.

The picture dissolves into memory.

analyze:

A. While repairing the stairs, I saw Hannah busy but happy. As I mentioned earlier in the scene where Jane borrows money from Hannah, she's someone who knows how to make a living. The stairs here are repaired by myself, and the house where the patient lives is clean and bright, which shows that Hannah is a girl with strong hands-on ability.

B. When the patient talks about books, Hannah says she doesn't know anything. In fact, she doesn't know anything, actually not. About academics, about rigorous theory of knowledge, about dogmatism, these are not her interests, so she will say this.

C. When Hannah gave plums to the patient, the patient said it was really fat, and he said it twice. I have said before about repetition. So I am very impressed with this shot. The patient's body was scorched, and his lungs were small. He could not taste the plums just by his senses. So what it represents is the patient's gratitude for the gift of this natural fruit, and the gratitude that he can still taste this food.

D. The role of the book in the patient's hand is not just a prop in the film. So far, this book has appeared many times.

①From this book, we can see that the male protagonist loves this book very much.

②This book should be related to the male protagonist's occupation.

③The male protagonist should be someone who is knowledgeable or rich.

information:

1. The patient and Hannah are temporarily settled.

2. The identity of the patient may be related to history.

Part12 (Memories):

A young handsome man was drawing something on a book, and when he looked up close, it was a map of a mountain ridge. He communicated with the old man in the local language (Arabic) and recorded it. The old man has sensitive hearing, and a yellow plane flew in the distance. When the plane landed, the young man and the other group also came by car. The man got down and stood at the side of the car, and his friend ran over to greet the people on the plane. The first person who ran to meet them was Murdoch, and the other three with him were the archaeologists Didante and Bettig. , Egyptologist Fisher. Those who got off the plane were brother-in-law Cotton and his fiancée Catherine. They were all from the International Desert Exploration Association, and the man drove up to them and introduced himself. His name was Amersey. And from the dialogue it is known that Catherine's plane was a wedding gift from her parents. Catherine introduced herself to Amersey, read his paper, and appreciated it very much.

Amersey and Katherine present their views on the paper's adjectives.

analyze:

A. This recalled story is about this patient. He is an archaeologist and is fluent in Arabic. His name is Amersey, and the color ridge map depicted in the book should be related to this exploration project.

B. When Amersey was drawing, he heard a silver plane and several cars in the distance, indicating that he was not alone here, and indeed his colleagues appeared one after another.

C. Cotton and his fiancée Catherine appear, but they should not belong to the Exploration Society. Murdoch knew both of them well, and Amersey had not been in contact with them before.

D. Catherine's family conditions should be good, and she also has a strong interest in historical archaeology. (Send the plane, talk about the thesis can be seen).

E. Katherine is a person with her own independent opinions, ideas, and the courage to express her own opinions (controversial adjective opinions with Amersey, many men and one woman).

F. Amersey seemed a little shy to meet Catherine for the first time, and chose to surrender to Catherine's rebuttal about love.

information:

1. Know the patient's identity and occupation (Amersey, archaeologist).

2. Know that the story takes place in the desert.

3. Meet other characters (Catherines, Murdoch and colleagues).

4. Their organization is called the International Desert Exploration Association.

doubt:

1. Why did the Katherines come here?

2. Will Amoxy and Katherine have a story? How to develop?

3. What is the main prospect of their organization in the desert?

Part13 (Memories):

Amersey and Murdoch were preparing for the launch of the flight, which Murdoch said was recommended by the Royal Geographical Society as tourists. Amersey didn't think it was necessary, and Meadows said that two people, one with better flying skills and one with more knowledge, could help. Amersey said it was a pity that Murdoch could not draw pictures in a plane, and Meadows said that Cotton could draw too. The plane started, and the two planes soared in the air like a pair of winged birds. Cotton took some pictures, and Katherine's plane made a 360-degree rotation when flying in the air.

analyze:

A. Amersey was not very welcoming of the two uninvited guests from afar, and twice expressed her attitude to Murdoch.

①We are not welcome to visit as a tourist.

②I don't care if it is recommended by the Royal Geographical Society.

③ Even if Cotton can draw a bird's-eye view, he is disdainful. From this, it can be seen that Amoxy revealed a feeling of arrogance and intimacy in her bones.

B. Since the Catherines were recommended by the Royal Geographical Society, it shows that they are very close to the political world.

C. As mentioned earlier, Coton's flying skills have been proven very well. He drove the plane to a 360-degree rotation in the air. (Note here that she has superb flying skills).

D. Catherine greets Amersey while flying in the air, and Catherine smiles in return. (Second exchange)

information:

1. The Catherines had close ties to British politics.

2. Coton flies very well.

3. Amersey is arrogant, withdrawn and indifferent.

Part14:

During the day, Hannah changed Amersey's sheets and helped him roll over. She wanted to move the bed to the window so that he could see the beautiful scenery outside. Amersey said he couldn't stand the sun, but he could see the desert landscape because he had been exploring and drawing maps in the desert before, and the past scenes were vivid in his mind. Amosy turned his head and muttered to himself that he saw his wife. Amoxy wanted to smoke, and Hannah smiled and said he was joking again. Speaking of why she tried her best to take care of him, Hannah was sluggish here, saying that she was a nurse, her eyes darkened a lot.

At night, Hannah played hopscotch alone in the yard.

analyze:

A. Hannah was in a good mood while changing the sheets for Amersey, and she took care of him with all her heart.

B. Amersey still remembers his wife, where he used to work, the endless desert. Exactly what kind of experience keeps a dying person so unforgettable, that's what I desperately want to know.

C. Amersey asks why Hannah is so obsessed with keeping him alive? She replied because she was a nurse. (Please note here that Hannah's eyes suddenly dimmed after saying this), is it really a nurse?

①Because of her kind nature and her status, she is a person with a strong sense of responsibility.

②Amersey and Hannah are essentially the same kind of people, their souls are dead.

③Hannah uses it as a replacement for her lost boyfriend and friends.

④ mutual emotional sustenance.

Hannah played hopscotch at night. In fact, because of Amoxy's problems during the day, she was reminded of the people she lost.

information:

1. Identified Hermosey's work (desert exploration, mapping).

2. Hannah's pain is still there, her joy is just a protective shell.

question:

1. Who is the wife in Amoxi's mouth?

2. What exactly was his experience?

Part15 (Reality + Memories):

Written at the front, this clip is wonderful, using this story Katherine tells to cleverly interweave memory and reality. Compared to the parallel montage clip of the last assassination in the movie "The Godfather 1", I prefer the clip here. As mentioned earlier, the editor of the two films is the same person.

Parallel transitions with the sound of Hannah's hopscotch footsteps in the yard to a bonfire in the desert in Ammosy's recollection (a subtle transition here, on the importance of the scene's musical editing). A funny performance by my brother-in-law made everyone laugh, and the local people also sang along. Compared to Jeff's performance, Katherine is too quiet, she is telling a story.

The king is bent on proving that the queen is the most beautiful woman in the world (Hannah is reading to Amoxy)

I'm going to hide you in the Chamber of Secrets, Gantry says (Amersey corrects Hannah's pronunciation)

He tells Gage the Queen's nightly habit (Catherine stands)

She took off the robe first and put it on the chair by the door

Then you can enjoy her ketones as much as you want (Hannah read, here's a dissolving shot)

Consistent with what the king said that night, she walked to the chair and removed her clothes one by one (looking up at the camera to shoot Catherine)

Finally standing naked in front of Gage (the camera slides to the side of Emerson, Catherine in real, in the center, Emerson in the virtual scene, in the lower left corner)

Beautiful as a fairy, beyond imagination

At this time, the queen raised her head (far and near, Catherine standing in the distance)

Seeing Gage hiding in the dark

She shivered and said nothing (Amersey gradually raised her head and looked at Katherine, far and near, cutting through a camera)

The next day, she summons Gage and confronts him (Catherine medium shot, fixed)

After Gage's remarks, she said (Catherine medium shot, fixed)

Grab it and behead it (cut to Jeff Cotton, everyone laughs, no Amoxy's shot)

She said if you don't want to be put to death

Kill the king who insults me

Taking his throne (cut to Jeff Cotton, embarrassed laugh)

So Gage kills the king and takes the queen (Catherine medium shot, fixed)

Twenty-eight years of rule of Lydia (Catherine medium shot, fixed)

end

A colleague said to Jeff that you should use this as a reference. Hannah kisses Amersey on the forehead after reading the story.

analyze:

A. Throughout, the story Catherine tells is prophetic, and it already shows where the finale is headed.

B. Language analysis from cuts and shots.

①Catherine is high above, occupying the main position in the center, indicating that she is more active in this relationship.

②Amersey is located in the lower left corner. As the camera goes on, the proportion gradually increases, indicating that he has gradually become more active in his relationship and strives for it, but even so, he still does not occupy the central position.

③The characters of the story correspond to three people.

④ Jeff Cotton's embarrassing smile shows that he has a hunch.

⑤ Katherine is like the queen in the story, but she is more dazzling and dazzling in real life.

⑥ In the story, the queen saw Gage hiding in the dark, and Amoxy raised his head and his camera gradually faded. This shot shows that in the beginning, Amersey was like Gage, he was silent, no one knew, and he did not dare to express his love for the person he liked.

C. After Catherine finished telling the story, some of the people in the group took this as a joke for Cotton. Although it was a joke, it was also a foreshadowing, indicating what it meant.

Part16:

Early in the morning, Hannah planned to repair the vegetable garden. When she was still some distance away from the garden, she saw a group of crows eating the seeds, so she ran over to drive them away. I was in a terrible mood, and when I was trying to find a way to solve this matter, a strange man came outside the door. He said he was Hannah's friend Mary and asked him to come and have a look, and Hannah laughed when he said he was Canadian. The man came over and gave her an egg, which he said was given by Mary. The man introduced himself as Hannah, his name was David Caravaggio, and performed a magic trick on Hannah with an egg in his hand, which fell off due to a hand injury. Hannah picked it up immediately and ran into the kitchen. Hannah was cleaning eggs while David chatted with her, and took two morphines from the medicine box. David said he had spent time in Africa, but now he needs to stay here for a while. Hannah thinks her friends are too worried about her, so she doesn't want David here. David said that he used to be a thief, and he wanted to steal firearms from the rebels. Hannah was a little worried when she heard that and asked him if he would use a gun. This is David's state of surrender. Hannah only notices his injured hand, asks him about it, and wants her to take a look before he goes.

analyze:

A. Hannah should be very busy outside of taking care of Amersey, getting up early in the morning and running to the vegetable garden. As mentioned earlier, she is a person with strong hands-on ability. She has been growing vegetables in the past few days, which shows that in life, Hannah can stand alone and live a good life.

B. When the stranger outside the door said that he was also Canadian, Hannah's face changed from the vigilant expression just now to a smile. (Because her boyfriend is also Canadian), there is a natural intimacy for the people in her hometown.

C. The eggs that fell on the ground were unwilling to waste, indicating that the conditions were difficult at the time, and perhaps there were other reasons why Hannah was so nervous about an egg.

D. What is the effect of David surreptitiously taking morphine.

E. When it comes to alertness when it comes to firearms, there is responsiveness here.

F. His kind nature made him notice David's injured hand and told him to show her before leaving (again confirming her kind character)

information:

1. David’s presence was purposeful.

2. Hannah and Amersey are living well at the moment.

question:

1. What was David's identity? What is the purpose of his coming here? There are also questions about morphine and so on about the injured hand.

Part17:

Hannah brought the prepared eggs into the room. She and Amersey said that someone gave her the eggs, and she was from her hometown. It was precious to meet them during the war. He may stay here for a while. Amoxy was visibly unhappy with the arrival of outsiders. David stood outside the door to hear their conversation, Hannah installed the curtains alone, and David came in and asked if she needed help.

Amoxy's tone of voice towards this uninvited guest was really rude, and David's tone of voice was even more angry. After Hannah left, the two talked about names, and David questioned whether Amersey had forgotten her name, when he said the picture of Katherine melted.

analyze:

A. Amersey's place in Hannah's heart gradually increased. An egg is not much. Hannah's first thought is that a person like him needs to be supplemented by good things. The special feelings between two people, or the dependence is gradually increasing.

B. The reason why Amersey was unhappy with the arrival of strangers.

①The character is arrogant and indifferent.

②I don't want my peaceful life to be cleaned up.

③ "Possessiveness" is strong, which can be understood as the possession of the current state and situation.

C. David is obviously hostile. He and Amoxy have at least some intersection, and there may be some contradictions and misunderstandings between the two (he questioned the details of Amoxy and Kathleen).

D. David will stay (Hannah's character, meeting old friends in a foreign land).

information:

1. David is probably here because of Amersey.

2. David and Amersey had an intersection.

question:

1. What happened between David and Amersey?

Part18 (Memories):

Katherine walked through the city alone, holding a scarf she just bought. Amoxy greeted her from behind and asked about the purchase price. After Catherine said the price, he thought she had been cheated and offered to help her bargain. Catherine thought the price was good and refused Amoxy’s request. Amoxy said she was not sociable, so she changed the subject, but Catherine did not respond, and Amoxy watched her leave.

analyze:

This "random encounter" was actually a secret stalking. The arrogant Amersey took the initiative to speak to Catherine and tried to help her bargain, but she refused. Changed the subject for the second time and got no response.

A. The so-called chance encounter is actually a planned advance arrangement.

B. Amersey still took the initiative, like Gage in the story, he was the passive side.

Part19 (Memories):

The group of the International Exploration Association discussed desert exploration in the bar. Jeff Cotton arrived a little late. Everyone asked about Catherine's situation. Jeff Cotton said that Catherine was either swimming or taking a bath, and especially liked it. In fact Katherine was reading outside at this time, because the bar was only for men. The crowd rose, and Murdoch apologized to Catherine. Murdoch mentioned the problem of insufficient funds for the exploration team, and Catherine asked for a solution. Everyone's solution was to narrow the scope or stay here temporarily.

At the dance, Amoxy invites Catherine to dance with him. Jeff Cotton in the distance saw it and drank silently beside him. The two danced melodiously, and Catherine hesitated when she asked Amersey why she followed him yesterday. Answering that because she is a colleague's wife and needs to be protected, she believes that Amerson can be above-board, which is better than aggressive stalking. After Catherine finished speaking, Emerson looked directly at Catherine, with obvious aggression, and Catherine's eyes were obviously nowhere to be placed.

analyze:

A. Jeff said that Catherine likes swimming, bathing, and water. He does not mean that. (details, pay attention)

B. The question of insufficient exploration funding, Catherine asked. (This is a detail, Catherine has a relationship, the book may solve it)

C. Jeff Cotton said that Katherine was outside, and Murdoch got up immediately. (Explain that Catherine may have more voice than her husband, or more important, so everyone will pay attention).

D. Catherine's doubts about stalking things at the ball, Amoxy's hesitation. (It means that the last time I went shopping was also tracked)

E. Jeff Cotton's reaction, drinking alone. (His doubts are gradually increasing, corresponding to the previous story)

F. Amoxy's aggressive look. (Does he want to be more proactive? Or in response to Catherine?)

information:

1. What Catherine likes to do.

2. Amoxy has a crush on Katherine. (here is clear)

3. Exploration plans are hampered by funding.

question:

1. What will happen between Amoxy and Katherine?

2. How to solve the problem of funding?

Part20:

Amersey will lie on top of him and feel that Hannah wakes up because her body can't bear it. Hannah apologizes for this because she just had a nightmare. She came to the kitchen and washed her face to wake herself up. After seeing his own reflection in the water, he tipped the water in the bottle down towards his neck and wept bitterly. David hears voices coming to comfort him, he thinks Hannah is in love with him. Hannah said no, they both fell in love with ghosts. David stretched out his hands to her and said that his hand was killed by Amoxy, Hannah didn’t believe it, David said that he was the ghost of his past, and asked Hannah to ask Amoxy what he had killed before people. Hannah couldn't accept this, and thumped the table and burst into tears. David exclaimed that he didn't think Amersey had forgotten everything, he just didn't want to face the past. The voice reached Amoxy's ears.

analyze:

Hannah's physical movements at night made Amoxy uncomfortable, so she woke her up.

A. Regarding nightmares, I think she must have dreamed of relatives and friends who left her, so she felt sad. Here is a detail of a reflection in the water, seeing his own intact appearance, and then thinking of relatives separated by yin and yang. So it is said that what they love are wandering souls.

B. David said that his hands became like this because of Hermes, so he has obvious hostility to Hermos and knows a little about his past.

C. In David's opinion, the persecuted person may not know him, so he asked Hannah to ask. Hannah was more emotional here, and she couldn't believe that Amersey was such a person.

information:

1. David's injury is related to Amersey.

2. David is here to find out the situation and to avenge himself. He didn't know much about the real situation.

question:

1. It is still the specific circumstances of a series of events surrounding Amersey, including Katherine, including David, including the fact of the plane, etc.

Part21 (Memories):

The exploration team toasted around the desert bonfire as Jeff Cotton and Katherine resolved the exploration funding issue. Jeff Cotton was going to Cairo to take some pictures for the military. Amersey asked what the pictures were, and Jeff replied that it had nothing to do with the general.

The next day, when Jeff set off, Amersey sat in the distance to say goodbye to him. After thinking for a while, he immediately got up and chased after him, asking him if it was appropriate for him to leave Catherine alone in the desert? Jeff told Amoxy that Catherine liked it here, that he and she were childhood sweethearts and knew each other very well, so there was no need to worry at all, and finally said in a joking tone that Amoxy was afraid of getting close to women. These were watched by Catherine who was standing in the distance.

analyze

A. The funding problem mentioned above was solved immediately. I think this is mainly due to Catherine, because she asked this question on her own initiative. (at the bar).

B. Jeff Cotton, who has ties to the military, blinked in response when Amersey asked what photo to take. (A man who flew a plane deliberately went to take pictures of people, this reason is a bit far-fetched, his purpose is not very clear)

C. Emerson took the initiative again, and stepped forward to ask worried Catherine. (The behavior is becoming more and more obvious, bold, and it can be said that the management is a bit redundant)

information:

1. Resolution of expenses

2. Jeff Cotton or the couple is questionable

question:

1. Jeff Cotton's purpose?

Part22:

Hannah found that an old piano furnished in the house could still play, and began to play with its nature. David upstairs was injecting himself with morphine, and Amersey said he liked the sound of his fingernails hitting the needle. The melodious sound of the piano attracted the person who knew the bomb. The man in the hood found the bomb lead under the piano, and he suggested that they move it here. Hannah had a smile on her face as she told Amersey these things, saying she would marry this man because her mother told her that playing the piano would lead her to meet her future husband. The bomb-clearing officer and his subordinates were camping outside, because there were still bombs around to clear, and they needed to stay here for a few days. Hannah was sorting vegetables in the garden when she saw Jeep (the bomb clearing officer) driving by. The two looked at each other and watched the motorbike gradually leave.

The image dissolves as Amersey hums on the bed.

analyze

The two people who cleared the bomb, Hannah, had met before, when Jane was killed.

A. Hannah and the others have been living here for a while, but no bomb has been found. There may be a crisis behind the peaceful life

B. David injected himself with morphine to explain his previous intention to steal the drug, which was supposed to relieve the pain in his body.

C. The appearance of the bomb squad indicates that there will be bomb incidents that need to be defused in the future.

D. Hannah has a crush on Jeep.

information:

1. David needs morphine for pain relief in his body.

2. The reappearance of the two main characters, they will be responsible for clearing the surrounding bombs.

3. Hannah's personal emotional line has emerged.

Part23 (Memories):

Amoxy and Catherine were driving in the desert. Amoxy spoke very little, and Catherine kept chatting. Catherine asked that Amersey always sings, he said no, and then asked Ao (Arabian guide) sitting on the roof of the car, he said and everyone sang together.

Amersey found the location of the ridge on the drawing, and continued walking alone, and found a left hand mark not far away, presumably someone had come before. He cautiously walked into the cave next to him, turned on the flashlight in his hand, and seemed to have discovered a shocking secret. Unable to hide the ecstasy in his heart, he ran out of the cave and shouted to the other fellows.

The cave seems to be a painting left by the predecessors. The brushstrokes are simple, the movements are soft, and the graceful body is like a fish swimming in the water.

Everyone was amazed by the ingenious painting skills.

Everyone stayed here to sort out the information, and Catherine was in charge of painting.

On the way back, everyone was very excited. On the way of the car, a partner accidentally fell from the car and slipped into the desert. The car followed and fell into the desert.

Everyone got out of the car in a hurry. The two vehicles were stuck in the desert and could not drive, and Amersey, Katherine, and several others stayed where they were waiting for rescue.

analyze

A. The ridge on Hermosy's drawings appeared in the scene of his first recollection. He was talking to a local old man at the time, and he should be asking about the location of this mountain.

B. He walked forward and found a stiff handprint, indicating that someone had stayed here before. Amoxy tried it with his own hand, and it was a left handprint. It can be known that what he has been looking for should be here.

C. Enter the cave, pay attention here, the first time Amoxy went in, the director did not show us the picture, but through Amoxy's expression, the audience's curiosity was aggravated.

D. The second audience is the first time other people in the movie see the murals on the wall, and our emotions are one with them. When we see the mural, is it very familiar, the people at the beginning of the movie are here. At this point, the movie has been played for 56 minutes before the answer is revealed, which firmly captures the curiosity of the audience.

E. Catherine drew the patterns in the cave, why did she draw it, and this cave, this is a key point.

F. The companion fell from the car just to give Amoxy and Katherine a chance to be alone. (In my opinion, the traces of the director or editing are too obvious, so I personally don't like the scene of two people sleeping in the desert, it is too obvious on purpose)

information:

1. Answers to the opening pattern.

2. Amoxy's mission for this exploration.

Part24 (Memories):

Catherine sorted out the paintings on the side, picked out some murals on the wall, got up and walked to Amersey, she wanted to give them to him, and they could be pasted on his notebook. Amersey politely declined, thinking that Catherine was too good to be painted.

Catherine was very angry about this, smoking a smothering cigarette alone at night. The dust storm was coming from afar, and Amersey persuaded her to get back in the car.

The two get into the car to avoid the sandstorm, and Amersey tells Katherine a story with a history.

The two slept in the car, and woke up the next day to find that the companion's car was completely covered by the desert.

The vehicles that Murdoch drove past did not see their flares. Amoxy told Catherine that he wanted to put the drawing on a notebook and that it would be an honor for him. Afterwards, the two dug out their companions buried under the desert together. Catherine flipped through Amoxy's books in the car, there was a photo, and a text full of K's.

At night, Catherine told Amersey that Jeff Cotton was not going to Cairo, and that their plane was not theirs, but the British government's. Their aim was to get an aerial view of North Africa. Except for marriage, everything else is fake.

Murdoch found them, and Catherine asked herself if it was the K in his book, and Amersey looked at her fondly.

analyze

A. Katherine took the initiative to propose to Emerson, but was ruthlessly rejected. (The whole film only sees Catherine's initiative here.)

B. The relationship between the two people in the car heated up too fast, which made me dislike this part very much. I personally suspect that the content of the movie has been deleted.

C. The two of them overslept, so they had a great time chatting, and then they asked Catherine for a picture the next day. The change was too fast. (Make complaints)

D. Emotions seem to have intensified since Catherine saw the "K" on his notebook. She spoke to Amersey about their true purpose in coming here. Here's a detail. Amersey asked about marriage, because at this time he already hoped that marriage would also be fake, but unfortunately it was true.

E. When Katherine asked Amersey if "K" was her, Amersey tacitly did not speak.

information:

1. The purpose of the Katherine couple coming here.

2. The emotional expression between the two people is obvious.

Part25:

Hannah came out of the kitchen with Amoxy's food in her hand. Amoxy and Jeep were discussing the content of the book. Amoxy told Hannah that she liked Jeep because they had the same fun. Made Hannah jokes when Jeep went to get the condensed milk.

analyze

A. Hannah and Amersey became objective and cheerful, and there was talk and laughter between the words, and Amersey also joked about Hannah's emotions.

B. Hannah has a crush on Jeep.

Part26 (Memories):

Amoxy and Catherine returned to the hotel. After getting off the car at the door, Catherine invited Amoxy in, but Amoxy refused, calling her seriously. The happy mood dissipated immediately, and he walked to the hotel door angrily. Amoxy did not forget to remind him to return the notebook.

Amoxy was lying on the bed with a tired look on her face, and she slowly got up after hearing a knock on the door outside the house. Before she was awake, she saw Catherine walking towards him in white. Amoxy slowly got up from the bed and walked to Catherine's side with a slap.

Amoxy hugged her tightly, kissed her, and tore her clothes.

After a turnaround, Amersey sat in the bathtub patching Katherine's clothes, humming a song.

Catherine came over from the bed to wash his hair.

Emerson asked Catherine what she liked best, and Catherine said a lot.

He took off his clothes and sat naked in the bathtub, hugged Amoxy's head, and kissed him.

When Catherine spoke of her husband, Amersey turned her head and shifted.

When Amoxy asks what she hates most, Catherine answers a lie.

Catherine asked Amoxy, and Amoxy replied that she was possessed and possessed.

Continue to say when you are gone, please forget me. Catherine got up, picked up her clothes and left.

analyze

A. Catherine was immersed in joy when she returned to the hotel, so she invited Amoxy, but Amoxy rejected Catherine again, she must be very angry, but she couldn't restrain her emotions, so she came to find Amersey, came up and slapped him.

B. Catherine likes too many things, water, fish, notes... Only when she talks about her husband does Amoxi turn her head away. He thought that in Catherine's heart he was not that important.

C. Amersey said that what he hated most was being possessed, when he said to Katherine that when you go, please forget me. Catherine realized she was going to leave him eventually, so she got up and left.

Part27:

Hannah reads the words on the Christmas firecracker wrapping paper to Amersey.

December 22

wartime betrayal

Far simpler than a peaceful betrayal

Lovers are both surprised and happy, vulnerable and disturbed

But always easily crush everything

Because the heart is made of fire

Hannah asks who K is, Amoxy answers Katherine

Amoxy gave the answer herself, and k was Catherine.

Part28 (Memories):

On Christmas day, everyone is celebrating. Catherine assisted outside, and Amersey was at the indoor window. He let Catherine pretend to be hot and go into the house to rest so that he could get closer to her. Amersey wrote the verse Hannah read aloud on Christmas firecracker paper. Outdoor Santa Claus walks past with bags. Catherine pretended to be sick and entered the room, and Amoxy led Catherine to a secret place.

Gently removing the steel needle with the bouquet in it, Catherine unzipped her back by herself. Amoxy's gaze trailed the zipper and slowly slipped

He raised his head and looked at Katherine. The clamor, the rubbing, and the wheezing were intertwined. Amoxy stretched out her right hand and gently wrapped her arms around Catherine's waist. She leaned her left hand on the top of her heart, lowered her head slightly, and licked the depression under her neck with the tip of her tongue. Take off the thin coat, and continue to unload the rope tied to the chest. The two of them pressed their cheeks together slightly, panting heavily, and the singing outside continued. She slid her left hand to her buttocks and lifted her skirt. Catherine closed her eyes and raised her head. A group of people outside the house solemnly sang hymns, and the figures in the windows were looming. Catherine hugged Amoxy's head and kissed her heartily. Putting her thumb into Catherine's mouth, her body vibrated up and down, and her thumb was gently taken out. Catherine desperately wanted Emerson's kiss.

When the chant ended, everyone toasted, and Jeff Cotton, dressed in Santa, looked around for Katherine. In the corner to the side, she was found, Catherine Ruo had a thoughtful answer to Jeff's question. Catherine cried to Jeff that she wanted to go home as soon as possible. Jeff hugged Catherine and kissed her to comfort her, smelling Catherine's feverish mint. Eyes slightly suspicious.

analyze

A. The meaning of the railing of the window. In the film, Amoxi came to find Catherine. At this time, Aceline was outdoors and Amoxy was indoors. Although the two were talking, there was a set of railings in the middle.

① Indicates that there is a wall between the emotions between two people, and close relatives in a superficial relationship do not indicate the unity of inner thoughts

②The railing represents bondage, indicating that the two are bound by this relationship, and they are deeply trapped in it and cannot extricate themselves.

③Amersey is in the dark, Catherine is in the light, Amoxy's inner emotions are more complicated than Catherine's, and the torment he endured is deeper.

④In Wang Jiawei's movie "In the Mood for Love", Maggie Cheung and Tony Leung have several scenes with railings, which are very classic and can be compared.

B. The time of the passionate scene of the two is consistent with the solemn chant outdoors. The climax of the music perfectly fits the climax of the passionate scene. The outdoor is a solemn scene, and the indoor is full of lust. This scene is full of tension, jump, passion, enjoyment, joy

C. Jeff Cotton kissed Catherine and found that the smell was abnormal, Catherine's eyes dodged between the two talking. Jeff's suspicions of Katherine are further heightened.

Part29:

Amoxy was still reminiscing about the past, and David asked her if she remembered Mousse, and he said he didn't. Amersey took David's breath for the sound of rain, saying that he was so desperate for rain that he wished he could get one before he died. David asks Amersey if he knows what a first-year wedding is, and Amersey isn't sure if it's a paper wedding.

analyze

A. David wanted to know the truth about the matter from Amersey, so he asked him if he knew Moose, who was supposed to be a person.

B. Amersey wants to get in the rain, why does she want to get in the rain? He can't bask in the sun, can't move, and can't feel the touch of things in nature, so a rain can make him feel nature more effectively.

C. David's paper marriage should be related to his experience.

question:

1. Who is the mousse mentioned by David?

2. Can Amoxy's wish for the rain come true?

3. Part30:

On the first anniversary of Jeff and Catherine's wedding, Jeff planned to surprise Catherine. Jeff told him that he would be back tomorrow. He asked his colleague what marriage was on the first anniversary of their marriage, and Mousse told him that it was a paper marriage.

Catherine dressed up and went out. Jeff in the car in the distance was holding flowers and saw Catherine going out into another car.

Catherine, undressed, was lying on the bed, and there were songs and ballads in the room. Amoxy told Catherine that this was what her grandmother sang to him when she was a child.

Amoxy told Catherine a story, halfway through hearing it, she realized that the story was about her. Amersey leaned on the side, his fingers slowly slid on the front of Catherine's neck, pointing to the depression, he said to Catherine that he asked to occupy this place and asked the king to give him it.

Catherine said she could stay overnight, and said that the world is different, life is different, and she's a different wife. When Amoxi heard this, her eyes dimmed, and it took a long time to reply.

At night, Jeff was drinking stuffy wine in the car.

Amoxy and Catherine bought metal accessories and pin hoops at the market, but Amoxy did not bargain this time.

Catherine pulled Emerson up, and she asked worriedly if we would be okay, and Amersey told her it would be okay.

Jeff was smoking a smouldering cigarette in the car and saw Katherine hurried back with a subtle change in the expression on his face.

analyze:

A. The marriage between Catherine and Jeff Cotton was not out of love. The two were too familiar with each other, and in her heart, his husband was like a relative, so in her relationship with Amersey, she was Suffering, but also trembling. On the wedding anniversary, she didn't remember, instead, she remembered that she was going to a lover's appointment.

B. In the conversation between the two in bed, Amersey was deeply involved in it. He forgot the words he hated being possessed the most, but now, he has been possessed.

C. Katherine mentions her husband again, explaining that in this relationship, she is considering or thinking about his husband's thoughts. At this time, Amoxy's eyes dimmed, and his heart must be uncomfortable .

D. Amersey is obsessed with the name of that part of Catherine's shoulder blade, which, in his opinion, might represent something there

E. David is Mousse, who used to work with brother-in-law Cotton.

F. Jeff Cotton in the car waiting all night, beer, smoke. The use of origami props accentuates his inner unease.

information:

1. David and Jeff Cotton were colleagues, he should be working for the British government

2. Jeff Cotton confirms Katherine was cheating

Part31:

David was playing the record, and Amoxy answered all the questions about the songs on the record. Hannah looked at the Jeep below from the window with a smile on her lips. Hannah brought him olive oil to nourish his head.

Amersey notices David's injured hands, he asks what's under the glove, David undoes the glove... (camera zooms to memory)

Part32 (Memories + Present):

Toruk in 1942, the war was still going on, an officer told David that he needed to stay because the German military was going to send someone to steal the map, because this map was about an important route in the desert, this daddy map ownership belongs to the UK Government. But it's currently in Emerson's hands. The officer said that Murdoch had been betrayed by Amersey and needed him to stay and deal with the matter.

Someone else may have leaked Mousse's whereabouts, he was caught by the Germans, and his fingers were chopped off for adultery.

He went on to tell Amersey that he later found the officer who chopped off his finger and the person who took the photo, but he was dead. Then he went on to say that there was a man who assisted the Germans in infiltrating Cairo, and he had been looking for this man.

In 1939, the British government ordered the termination of all exploration operations. Murdoch was nervous about the map, but Amersey seemed out of the world.

On the road to the market, Amersey asked what the government wanted a map for, and Meadows replied that if he had the desert, he could control North Africa. When the two parted, Meadow did not answer when Amoxi asked what the woman was called under the neck.

analyze:

A. David's identity is known and his purpose. He was a spy for the British military and was caught by the Germans. As for him, he went to Amersey for revenge.

B. Amersey is an anarchist and liberty watcher, he doesn't care about the war, and when Meadows says the war has broken out, he is worried about the current situation, and Amersey is asking her about the woman's collarbone.

C. Knowing that the map is in the hands of Hermosy, the desert map drawn by the exploration team is an important clue to control North A
