It is more interesting to talk about the fall of the Berlin Wall than to talk about the collapse of the Leifeng Pagoda

Familiarity with the Berlin Wall stems from the rock tapes and Sony Walkman brought back from my father's visit to West Germany in the early 1980s. To the Chinese in the 1980s, the wealthy Germany was almost a living example of all kinds of corrupt capitalism. But the most interesting is the photo of my father at the Berlin Wall. By the time I got out of college and started working, the wall had already been knocked down. When I first set foot on the city of Berlin in 1998, it was a huge construction site waiting to be built, with tower cranes everywhere and tall buildings under construction everywhere. We drove to the place where East Berlin used to be in a taxi, and suddenly found a row of Soviet-style buildings, which looked very much like the office buildings of various ministries and commissions in the capital. When I walked to the original site of the Prime Minister's Office, my mind was full of the description of "The Resurrection and Death of the Third Reich" and the scenes in the movie "Snake". A generation growing up during the Cold War had an innate familiarity with such architectural silhouettes. After watching "Arctic City", these clips resurfaced... I remember that I bought a white T-shirt at the GAP store with a tiny Stars and Stripes Logo and the words Berlin 1968 on it. A good-looking entertainment film is unlikely to be released in theaters. We don't want to talk about the past of the fall of the Berlin Wall. After all, this is the main scene of this film. The Cold War should be a long historical process second only to World War II. There are too many subjects to be explored, just to remember.
