"The Judge" - A trial about justice

An accidental car accident uncovers a 20-year feud between father and son.
The protagonist, lawyer Hank, is a villain who specializes in defending the innocence of rich people and playing with the law, and he is very successful. His opponents were eager to get revenge on his father by hitting him, and he was scolded for drinking in bars, and someone gave him the middle finger on the street.
He lives only for himself and never cares about the feelings of others. Twenty years ago, I left my girlfriend without saying hello. Twenty years later, I don't know the name of my daughter's teacher. He almost slept with his own daughter. Haven't been home or even called in 20 years because he hated his stern father and thought he never loved him.
Judge Joseph was a stern man, not only to others but himself. In his house, the children can't put their shoes on the sofa, the son can't be seen playing with the camera, and no one can drive the car except him. He hasn't drank a drop of alcohol in 28 years, and I guess it was the year that the eldest son had a car accident.
That car accident changed the family's fortunes. Hank has been rebellious since he was a child, skipping classes, fighting and taking drugs. The eldest son is very talented in baseball and has won numerous awards, which is the pride of the judge. He, who would have a bright future, lost his chance to become famous because Hank was injured in a car accident while taking drugs and drinking. The judge has since stopped drinking alcohol, let alone anyone touching his car, and has become more stern and alienated towards Hank. Hank thought that this loveless home was no longer worthy of nostalgia. He left home in anger for 20 years without even making a phone call.
The trophy in the eldest son's old room is the regret of the judge's life, which should have been his pride. It is estimated that he blamed himself for his incompetence every day, which led to the tragedy. So 28 years without a drop of alcohol.
In one shocking detail, in front of the garage, a judge taunted his son's impending divorce for a discordant marriage. It shows that the judge has been caring about Hank for 20 years without interruption. That is the most primitive fatherly love. The path taken by lawyer Hank is an evil path in the eyes of the judge. He understands that his son is a villain who plays with the law, and the judge regards justice as more important than life. Nevertheless, he still loves his son. Tears ~
At the beginning of the trial, the judge categorically rejected his son's defense, believing that Hank would definitely trample on the law and justice, and he would rather sacrifice himself. What made Hank make a change to respect his father's will and respect the law? I guess it was Lakeside Hank who learned that his father was terminally ill with cancer, saw him and his daughter have a harmonious blind date, and knew that he was wrong for 20 years. He told his daughter that his grandfather was a strict person, and his daughter said that he was very good. Seeing that scene reminded him of how his father loved him when he was a child. Tears ~
In court, Hank asked his father the last question: Why was he tolerant and kind to the criminal, which eventually led to the tragedy? It's actually a 20-year feud between father and son: why are you so lenient with a criminal and so harsh with your own son? The judge's answer wet everyone's eyes: because seeing this criminal is like seeing a son, everyone makes mistakes and should be given a chance to correct. It is implied that the judge did not forgive Hank after his eldest son was injured in a car accident that year, which eventually caused him to run away from home. Hate that iron is not steel. Only now did Hank know that his father had forgiven him 20 years ago. Tears~
On the yacht, the judge said to Hank that you are the best. At this time, the judge believed that Hank had learned love and tolerance and could leave with a smile.
In an episode, when the judge and Hank were drinking, Hank asked the judge how to deal with the divorce from his wife. The judge asked him back: You have to ask yourself if you can give her happiness again. I believe the audience already knows the answer.
As for the scene with the old lover, deleting it does not affect the plot.
