NIGHT/INT.
Maya and Miles sit down on a pair of red sofas to continue their wine tasting. Maya adjusts her sitting position so that she can face Miles face to face.
Maya: Why do you like Pinot so much?
Miles (laughs unnaturally): Well, I don't know either. Ang, this grape is very difficult to grow, you know very well, right? Thin-skinned, fragile, mature early, not as adaptable as Cabernet, which grows everywhere, and grows well regardless. Pinot needs to be taken care of at all times. In fact, it can only grow in some hidden corners of the world. Only those who have patience and love can grow and live, really. Only those who take the time to discover the potential of Pinot can grow the perfect fruit. Then, huh? Its fragrance is long-lasting and memorable, and it has a long history. Although Cabernet is also strong, it was bland to me. I'm talking about comparisons. how about you?
Maya: Me what?
Miles: I mean, why do you like wine?
Maya: I think it started because of my ex-husband, who had a big, fancy wine cellar. Then I found myself good at tasting wine. The more I drink, the more it inspires me.
Miles: What inspires you?
Maya: What a hypocrite he is.
Miles (suddenly laughing)
Maya: Just kidding. I like to meditate on my life. Everything in the world, I like to think about how the sun shines when the grapes are growing, and what happens when it rains? I like to think about the people who grow the grapes and pick them, and if it's an aged wine, whether those people are no longer there. I love watching wines keep changing, and if I open a bottle today, it must taste different than any other day. Because a bottle of wine also has its life. It's changing all the time, getting deeper. Until it's at its peak, it's like your '61 wine. After that, it will gradually lose its fragrance.
