Never thought that in the 1960s, in our human history, there were still such dark corners where racial discrimination could evolve to such a presumptuous level. I think, even if we have read a lot of relevant literature, how can we really understand if we don’t have real experience? It never occurred to me that in this dark period, there are still people willing to stand up bravely. Even if they become the target of public criticism, they are bound to prove their point of view to the world: black people can play with their heads! Also, they will play better and prettier than whites! We have to thank coach Dan Haskins. If it weren't for him, perhaps black players would still be at the bottom end of the team, let alone shine in the NBA. It was him who unconditionally believed and persisted, bringing the light to thousands of black players. I have never thought that there is such a group of people, from being strangers to each other, disgusting, to finally sharing weal and woe, no one can be separated from each other, and they have engraved their names and deeds heavily in this long river of time, only for the purest. Passionate about basketball. To say they are playing basketball with their lives is an understatement. From a little-known small team to the college league, step by step, even for an ordinary team composed of all white players, the bitterness and difficulties in the middle are self-evident. What's more, their special status and social background at that time made the road to glory narrower and rougher. However, intimidation, beatings, cynicism... what are all these compared to their dreams? They deeply know the weight of dreams. They even know that losing their dreams is as cruel and powerless as losing their lives. Therefore, every game and every struggle of theirs is the burning and splendor of life. They are fearless, so they are invincible! From the bottom to the top, it's not a smooth road. But they moved forward steadily. Don't stop, don't look back, never hesitate to step out of your own pace even in the face of wind and rain, and use your own beliefs to walk out a true, glorious road that belongs to them!

  • General Mireau: I can't understand these armchair officers, fellas trying to fight a war from behind a desk, waving papers at the enemy, worrying about whether a mouse is gonna run up their pants leg.

Colonel Dax: I don't know, General. If I had the choice between mice and Mausers, I think I'd take the mice every time.

  • Saint-Auban: How far did you advance?

Private Ferol: To about the middle of no man's land, sir.

Saint-Auban: Then what did you do?

Private Ferol: Well... I saw that me and Meyer...

Saint-Auban: [rudely cutting him off] I didn't ask you what you saw. The court has no concern with your visual experiences.

Private Ferol: I went back, sir.

Saint-Auban: In other words, Private Ferol, you retreated.

    Private Ferol: Yes, sir.

Saint-Auban: [to the judges in a cocky tone] I have no further questions.
