A thankless movie

1. Friends who have a little experience in watching movies will at least have heard about this film. The film made with the sky-high production costs that year disappointed fans after its release, and directly led to the downfall of Kevin Costner, who was flourishing with "Dances with Wolves".
2. Personally, I think the subject matter and background setting of the film are undoubtedly very good: in the future, two levels of glaciers will melt, completely submerging the land (this will not happen in reality), the world has lost all the products of civilization, and the surviving human beings are only Able to drive dilapidated ships and rob each other of everything that can be plundered like lunatics. If the setting of this kind of "apocalyptic wasteland" is done well, it is likely to become a classic like the PC game "Fallout" (think about the plot connection between the two). But...
3. First of all, the scene is too monotonous. Except for a short paragraph at the end, most of the plot of the whole film takes place on the vast sea, and it is easy to get sleepy after watching too much. Those places such as broken ships and hot air balloons also directly Action scenes are limited.
4. As a work with a sci-fi tendency, there are no refreshing settings (even a few sentences will do), except for the protagonist and his party, other forces can be summed up as very bad taste in clothing Painful robber.
5. In essence, this film is still a cliché of hunting for treasures and killing bad guys. With gems like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" ahead, the failure of this film is unexpected and reasonable.
