The film overall is violent and sexual, and it lives up to the reputation of being very controversial, even by today's standard. However, the story is practicaly part of hollywood folklore. And no-one could deny that Basic Instinct has such big plot holes that some random clairvoyant or in possession of other-worldly powers will solve some intricate hardships for characters.
Personally, the story is unsatisfying, the characters lacks charisma during the second half of the film, the erotic scene isn't great either. “It is a film so utterly devoid of art and intellect that nothing remains other than a husk of rediculous ploys ."
I didn't expect that much before starting watching the film as it is more of a guilty-pleasure drama. But it is much worse than I expected except for that one particular scene in the interrogation room which played by Sharon Stone. End.
