"Back to Seventeen": "Not Confused" Male Mike

As the old saying goes, forty is not confused. But if the year of no confusion has passed and nothing has been accomplished, it is still possible to have doubts about your own life. The unconfused man Mike in "Back to Seventeen" blamed his failure on the choice of "love first, academics second" at the age of seventeen, but Mike is still lucky, after all, not everyone can be confused Encountered "fairy guides the way".

Mike and Button's experience in this year's Oscar film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" are not the same. The Barton family is gifted, and he was a little old man when he came out of his mother's womb, and he still started from scratch mentally. Mike is just the opposite, a man in his forties miraculously turned into a handsome young man with a strong body and an amazing appetite, but he was still the brain that knows the world. To say the same, the life of the two is indeed a miracle.

Although most of the miracles in the movie are the credit of the screenwriter, it is undeniable that our lives also need such creative embellishments. "Back to Seventeen" is a school comedy, but it puts the part of the story that belongs to the school in the miraculous transformation of Mike's life. It is different from the traditional school comedy and returns the main line of the plot to Hollywood. In the mainstream narrative structure of the spirit, it can be regarded as killing two birds with one stone.

In the past, Mike was an all-powerful figure in the school. The main general of the school basketball team could win a generous scholarship and successfully enter a famous university with his strength. At that time, due to the pregnancy of his girlfriend Scarlett, he made a "sloppy" choice of love and marriage and gave up his studies.

Mike has always believed that his career failure was due to his unfounded marriage. His wife couldn't stand his complaints and wanted to divorce him, and his relationship with his children became extremely discordant because of his failure. Dissatisfaction with reality will bring Mike back to the memories of the good old days. When he goes back to school to relive his old dreams, a white-bearded school worker grandpa breaks his mind. Later, under the "guidance" of the white-bearded old man, he "transformed" back to his seventeen-year-old self. However, this "transformation" is not the same as Nicolas Cage's transformation in "Family Man", the latter's change is the change of all characters, and "Back to Seventeen" becomes only Mike. This made him and his son and daughter become classmates. He originally thought that he would change his life on the basketball court. Mike could not help but act as his child's life "mentor", thus interpreting a ridiculous campus story.

Compared with the crazy behavior in the school story in "American Pie", the story of "Back to Seventeen" is much more low-key, it seems to be quite satisfactory, but it is also humorous, which is more suitable for the taste of the general public.

Near the end, when the "historic" moment came again, Mike's choice was the same as that of the year, and he couldn't let go of his love and marriage. The Hollywood spirit tells us that the good things you choose won't be the reason for your failure, and that's the only way to understand it.

"Back to Seventeen", a school light comedy dressed in a magical coat, won the box office championship with 24.07 million in its first week of release in North America, surpassing the third-ranked action film "Rage 2" with 17 million Above, such numbers are also enough to explain the surprise of the movie itself.
