War drugs

The anti-war meaning of the work is very strong. The second half of the film talks about the drug "ladder", but I feel that the "ladder" does not exist. Because when the protagonist heard the "Ladder" incident, he was in a deep coma. That world was completely a product of his mind, and everything that happened in that world was a subconscious reflection of him. Even if this happened, he himself would never know about the incident.
In my opinion, the "ladder" in his subconscious is just a reflection of the extinction of humanity in the hearts of soldiers by war.

Jacob's Ladder quotes

  • Jacob's Doctor: You're a lucky guy, Jake. You must have friends in high places.

  • Army Officer: Mr. Singer. What an appropriate name for a man who can't keep his mouth shut.
