Another jailbreak in the name of love

I walked into the movie theater without reading any introductions or film reviews. The film was flat from the beginning to the climax of the latter part, which really brought me a lot of surprises. The story begins by introducing the feud between the heroine and her boss through an argument between the two ladies of the dinner couple, and then the heroine is sentenced to life in prison for murdering her boss. Everything came so suddenly, the originally happy family suddenly became helpless, frightened and desolate. Although the husband firmly believed in the innocence of his wife, he could not find any favorable evidence and finally failed to appeal. Looking at his wife who committed suicide in despair, the husband decided to embark on the road of no return.
Then a series of sophisticated planning similar to Prison Break was launched, such as daily data collection, observation and recording, route design, and even going to prison to find out. The difference is that he also takes care of the important task of comforting his wife and taking care of his young son at the same time. For the sake of love and family, he is desperate, only to succeed and not to fail. There are deeper emotional descriptions and more complex responsibilities than Prison Break. As the plot progresses, looking at the male protagonist who is facing many difficulties and still risking his life to prepare for escape, the audience can't help but be moved by his love and persistence, and even begin to doubt whether the female protagonist is really innocent and worth it. The male protagonist pays like this - and this is exactly what the director wants. The climax unfolded amid such doubts. There were still 3 days before the heroine was transferred to prison. The escape arrow was on the line, so the rescue began. Step by step, he finally picked up his wife. At the same time, the mystery of the branch line was gradually revealed. The heroine turned out to be innocent, and at this time they also successfully fled abroad. At the end of the film, in the hotel in Venezuela, the hero looked at the mother and son sleeping peacefully, which made people worry about this. How will the family who finally got together be able to live in Venezuela while skillfully evading the pursuit of the United States? The film ends in this puzzle, bringing an open ending to the unfinished audience.

The Next Three Days quotes

  • Damon Pennington: No prison in the world is airtight. Each one has a key. You just have to find it.

John Brennan: How do you do that?

Damon Pennington: A lot of looking. Especially at things that break up the daily routine. Guards get comfortable doing the same thing day in, day out. Something happens, that's when they make mistakes. But when you see it, you have to be ready. You have to have the entire plan already in place even before you know how you're gonna get out of jail. Escaping's easy. The hardest part is staying free.

  • Damon Pennington: From the time they make the call, the police can have the center of the city sealed tight in fifteen minutes.

John Brennan: How can they be so exact?

Damon Pennington: After 9/11, Homeland Security made every city have a lockdown plan. Downtown Pittsburgh, Philly, Boston, Minneapolis, fifteen minutes. They can do D.C. in under ten. Within 35 minutes, they can have cops at every tollboth on the interstate and be running rolling stops on the secondary roads. They won't have your photograph yet, but they will have your description.

John Brennan: What if you can't get out? 35 minutes is not a lot of time.

Damon Pennington: Then surrender. Because they will shoot you on sight, along with anyone else you're with.
