film review

I couldn't read the original book in 2017, and it has little to do with science fiction. Science fiction is no longer a cloud except the three-body. Back then, I remarked "I can't appreciate it, I don't need to watch this series." I finally understood the movie. Apart from various political satires, it mainly discusses what is the universe and the world that confuses the world? The philosophical question of where to come from and where to go. Living philosophers have no answers to these questions, and neither does the book, but the unreasonable number 42 is given. Fans have had a lot of discussion about the meaning of this number, which is a well-known problem in Western science fiction culture. But the book makes it clear that thinking about these questions, or even knowing the answers, does not bring happiness. The male protagonist, who was entangled in his house being forcibly demolished, found that the earth was also built by the construction team, and finally became detached and chose to travel around the universe with the female protagonist. Therefore, being ridiculed by many sensible people, it is a happy choice. The author surrendered. The "pragmatic" people in the world, the happiness they pursue in their hearts are verbal, and they are in the script for life, like the NPC at the end of the film. The so-called enlightened people, like the male protagonist, do not actually belong to this earth and are superfluous, but they also do not know the true appearance of the world.

The part of creating the earth is very imaginative, but the plot is fragmented and illogical. Just an introduction to settings? . . . (Expansion, there are comments that it is mainly a variety of metaphors?). . . Also, many people like that melancholy robot, Marvin~

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy quotes

  • Zaphod: Hey. Sorry to hear about your planet. What was it called again?

    Arthur: Earth.

Zaphod: Yeah, Earth. I liked Earth. I got these boots on Earth. Anyway, don't tell the girl, OK? Cause if you do, I'll pull your spleen out through your throat.

  • Trillian: How badly does it hurt?

    Arthur: It doesn't feel great.
