There are a few things that don't make sense
The first is to discredit the two through the news media. If you use the news media to smear them, you can make passers-by, relatives and friends think they are bad people, but you can't and can make the officials think they are bad people, what's more, they still work for the government.
The second is the countdown at the back. The villain can kill the heroine without waiting for the countdown to end, or destroy the machine, so that the virus will not spread. Are you afraid of killing yourself?
Third, it was the air policeman who helped them out of nowhere...
