I watched "Tinker, Tinker, Soldier, Spy" twice in a row, because the first time I didn't know much about the clues, I watched it a second time. I understand it, and I understand the storyline.
Objectively speaking, it is indeed a good movie. It is very brain-burning. You can't desert for a second, otherwise you will miss it.
In fact, Bill's performance as a "mole" is not portrayed through too many obvious traces in the story. However, through Smiley's reasoning and recollection, and combining everyone's information, Bill's identity is introduced.
However, I still have two things that I don't quite understand. 1. Bill, as a ruthless person, saved Jim's life and let him live a peaceful life. In fact, according to the plot, Jim was going to Hungary for the secret of the executive director. Before the mission, I found Bill, so it means that this action was actually disclosed to Bill by Jim. Bill ordered the Hungarian side to rescue Jim after Jim was shot. It was emotionally possible, but Bill, as a A spy who is determined to serve Russia, will he leave troubles like this? This also leaves a line for finding the mole later. But from the identity of Bill's spy, it's illogical.
2. The affair between Raichattal and Irina also makes people feel fake.
Irina is only a peripheral staff member, and all she can provide is peripheral information. Richa is eager to make contributions, and feels that such information is very important, so it is illogical to send a message to report the situation regardless.
According to Racha's own introduction, he is actually just Pete's subordinate, and Pete himself is a general agent. If Racha has access to important information, shouldn't he report to Pete first? Why send a message to the headquarters to alert the headquarters?
This is illogical under normal circumstances.
Fortunately, these details do not affect the film as an excellent and wonderful film.
There are two scenes that I will never forget, one where Smiley is at a Christmas party and sees his wife and Bill having an affair in the garden. The actor Smiley did a great job. The sadness, disappointment, pain and depression, a few movements and a little look of the actor, all showed.
In the other scene, Jim ended up shooting Bill directly. Bill saw Jim aiming at him, without too much surprise, sadness, or doubt, indicating that he was prepared in his heart, maybe he was more gratified to die under Jim's gun. And Jim was in tears after shooting Bill.
This scene is really unforgettable!
Bill said he served Russia because of different worldviews and values, and he may have felt that he deserved to die without hesitation. But from the Circular's point of view, the whole incident is actually a joke. The Circus hopes to achieve cooperation with the United States through this kind of information, but in fact, it is just a monkey being played by the two parties, and in the middle, the Circus was once complacent. Therefore, Irina said in the movie that the Russian side joked around.
Those of us who watch movies also find it ridiculous, but why is it ridiculous?
