Like Quentin Tarantino, Rodriguez is paying homage to the era he grew up in in his own way.
There is no connotation in the film, there is no special entanglement. The sheer violence is heartwarming. Without a lot of unnecessary constraints, explanations, close-ups and foreshadowing, it directly shows exciting pictures, and brings out a sense of joy to the old-fashioned plots that have been played thousands of times.
Looking at a familiar face, a story of a pure man.
It doesn't need any Oscars, but it gives an enjoyable 2 hours.
