The three words that drew me to this movie were "Jude Law," "genius," and "high intelligence." After reading it, I feel that the last two words are not like that at all. A young man with a talent for imitation, with a bit of audacity, luck, and undecided killing after killing, won only the hush money, not the property. And the rest of his life will be spent in nightmares, guilt, and loneliness.
Jude Law is undoubtedly a huge bright spot in this movie. He likes his cynicism and his preference for music. Mei Di's sentence perfectly interprets him, "When he is passionate, he warms others like sunshine, but when he is It's as cold as winter when I'm tired." As for what others call "vase", I'm not convinced, except for himself, we have no way of knowing his true character and effort.
The gentle peter is another plus factor. He is handsome, gentle, and rich. If it is not gay, I think he should be the type that many girls like. The sight of him on deck in a black turtleneck and hooded trench coat is stunning and warm.
His relationship with Tom, I am more inclined that Peter really likes Tom, and Tom never liked Peter, Tom just needs a companion, his tears and reluctance are ultimately because he is tired of this kind of imitation, and In the days when he was in hiding, he was suppressed for too long, and this was just an outlet, and he felt more and more lonely because he lost a shoulder to rely on.
In fact, Tom's heart is low self-esteem and lonely. He longs for love.
In the days he lived with Dicke, I thought he was a parasite, but later, I was more willing to believe that he was in love with Dicke, and he was there because he was attracted to Dicke as we were, which It can be seen from the way he observes Dicke smoking, the tone of voice, the way he fiddles with the ring, and the way he watches Dicke's wet hands play chess.
And he killed Dicke completely by accident. His low self-esteem made him unable to bear the insult to him by the person he loved. After Dicke died, he panicked for a while, instead of being relieved and happy about having everything. This is enough to prove that this was not premeditated for a long time. And from his hesitation before registering his name at the hotel, it can be seen that the impersonation was only a temporary decision.
There are huge loopholes in Tom's murder, mutilation, and confessions. If you say "genius", it may only be his imitation, but during the time he lived as Dicke, we couldn't see that Unruly and cynical. So, this movie, without Jude Law and Peter, would be a boring movie. Of course, we can't deny Matt's acting skills.
I only watched this movie once, so please forgive me if I misunderstood.
