The "fruit of the poisonous tree" principle, I remember when I was in law school, the teacher spent three classes talking about this. The difficult choice of the little lawyer in the play between winning by not following the rules and using evidence or following the rules and failing miserably represents the conscience and perseverance of American legal practitioners. At the end of the movie, the director should take care of the emotions of the majority of the audience, but he has lost a little bit.
