Natasha is the only female superhero in the first-generation Avengers. She was born as a spy in the Red House. She was influenced by S.H.I.E.L.D.
Natasha's life has been marked by cruelty and killing, but she also has compassion for those who have lost their lives innocently involved in events of all kinds.
But cold-blooded killer and kindness and compassion, these two seemingly sharply opposed qualities can exist in Natasha's body without a sense of disobedience, which must be related to her experience. From this as an access point, Marvel can start from the time when little Natasha separated from her "family" and entered the red room, telling the story of her training, inner condemnation, and finally defecting. The focus can be on the story of Natasha and Hawkeye in Budapest, and then use the building explosion to leave an easter egg for the leader of the Red Room, and fully introduce Yelena in "Black Widow 2".
I think this kind of story arrangement can tell Natasha's life more completely, and the transition of the role of "Black Widow" is also better.
But Marvel's current arrangement is like using Natasha as a tool to introduce the "Second Generation Black Widow" Yelena. Maybe Marvel thinks that Natasha's role is worth it. After all, Natasha has passed away in the main universe, and no other development and expansion is needed.
But as an old fan of MCU for seven or eight years, I am relatively disappointed with "Black Widow".
