A white German Shepherd named Potter is the subject of a popular TV show, and his owner, Penny, also plays his show's owner on the TV show.
In the show, Potter has a variety of superpowers, including the incomparable strength, fast speed, hot light from the eyes and the almost invincible ultrasonic weapon "Dog Roar", and constantly stops Carrico Doctor's evil plan. However, the crew never let Potter know that it was all just acting, and because of this, Potter never knew that all his superpowers were actually fake.
Finally, one day, in the dark, Potter is too eager to rescue his master Penny, so he rushes out of the cage. However, lost, he was transported to New York in a daze.
On the way home from New York to Hollywood, Mimi, who Potter mistook for a "bad cat" in the studio, plays a ridiculous "elder." This stray "cat sister" goes to great lengths to teach Potter how to be a normal puppy. And the hamster Arnold they met later played a naive boy. The TV-loving hamster Arnold was a "super fan" of Potter, who had always believed in Potter's superpowers, and even still He has the same "superpower symbol" drawn on his body as Potter.
As far away as Los Angeles, the producers did a lot of ideological work for Penny for the progress of the film and their own jobs, and then replaced a dog exactly like Potter as the protagonist.
With Potter's interaction with Mimi, Potter gradually understood Mimi's words. Awakening himself has no superpowers. Like all other dogs, he pretends to be cute and begging, picks sticks, and plays with other dogs... At the same time, his "superpower mark" gradually fades until it disappears. He is turning into an ordinary and happy family dog.
After going through all the hardships, the three small animals traveled through almost the entire United States. They took different means of transportation, including trains, trucks, station wagons, and mud trucks. After several months, they finally returned to the set.
At this moment, Penny panicked because of (fake) Potter's stage fright and a fire accident occurred. Potter knew that Penny was in danger and rushed into the set to find Penny, but the whole place was caught in a sea of fire. Potter took Penny to the vent, but Penny fell down and couldn't go, and Potter roared "dog roar" at the vent before the firefighters found out and rescued them.
When she was sent to the hospital, Penny's mother was angry that the agent was still snobbish, and she told the producer categorically, "We're quitting!"
After Penny left, the show arranged a plot where the host's face was seriously injured by plastic surgery to change roles. In addition to Porter's return to Penny's arms, Mimi and Arno were also adopted by her.
