Gerry is such a policeman, who is a prostitute (when prostitution is legal, and the police is only a profession abroad, it does not represent the code of ethics). He blew himself up for taking drugs, has naive racial discrimination, loves his mother, looks dull, but his mind is Not at all confused, whether analyzing the case or seeing through interpersonal relationships, but also with incredible integrity. The criminals speak of the honest policemen who have never seen him before, and the fbi agent speaks of whether they are extremely clever or extremely stupid.
In Gerry, there is the arrogance and self-confidence of the Irish, but also the courage and resourcefulness of the Irish (think of the Irish Republican Army that caused the British headache at the beginning).
This film is not a pure comedy, but the black humor in it makes the film look very relaxed. It is extremely rare to see such an alternative police image, and it is rare to make such a policeman movie.
