I know I'm not quite

1°When we are young enough to gather around and watch group photos, we may always find that pair of undisguised eyes staring blankly at a special person.
2°So when the movie progressed to the point where the protagonist guessed the murderer, I thought that the plot would begin to explore a perverted murderer who destroyed the goddess in his mind. Neither of the film's two leads, however, focus on Gomez, the killer. One clue is the unspeakable love that the protagonist Esposito has for his female boss and seems to be well known to both of them. One is the case that disrupted everyone's normal life.
3° Unlike most crime-themed movies, the crime in this one isn't all that horrific. The difference is that the protagonists do not forget after a hundred battles. Ordinary people's lives are imprinted, and they seek ways and spaces for relief in the following years. This kind of story is far more resonant than the superheroes we are used to seeing and killing more people and having nightmares. After all, who doesn't have some memories buried deep in the past?
4 ° like two places in the film, technical. The first is the artistic messy scene at the beginning. Later in the plot, it is discovered that it originally corresponds to the plot of Esposito's memory of the novel, and it is also an ambiguous memory that may have happened in reality. The second is the cut of the climax when Esposito walks to the wooden house, which is very beautiful. This scene clearly splices together the fragmented and laid out images before, and then draws an equal sign - the truth reverses. It turned out that the brand that was overturned by the film did not come out of everyone's life.
5°If you are sensitive enough, you will find that there are many exquisite arrangements by the director in this slow-paced and boring film. For example, when the hero and heroine are talking, they will always be entangled in whether to close the door or open the door, and they will always be disturbed. For example, the typewriter that lacks the "A" key, whose meaning ends up at the end of the credits.
6°The appearance of each actor is ordinary and outrageous, and the plot will always lack dramatic and straightforward narrative. These do not prevent [Mysterious Eyes] from being a good-looking movie. I can't help complaining about Chinese movies - when will we get rid of the situation where all movies need star faces and big scenes to back them up?

The Secret in Their Eyes quotes

  • Benjamín Esposito: The truth is I don't know what to do. Morales gets worse by the day, the murderer knows that we're looking for him, I have a judge who is a moron, I want to kill Irene. And the only guy I can trust in the whole world is a drunk, a fucking asshole. I have an edge... small, but it's an edge... today is the 28th, isn't it? The drunk asshole hasn't been paid this month's salary yet, and the last month's gone, drank. So when the bartender wants to collect the bill the guy is going to face a dilemma: Either he says he has no money, and goes to jail, push comes to shove, there is a big mess, and his wife finally kicks him out of his house. Or he turns to the asshole of his boss, that would be me, and asks him to pay. But there's a catch: the boss is an asshole, but not such a big one, so he's going to pay... again, but he wants a favor in return. And the drunk asshole won't be able to say no, right?

  • Benjamín Esposito: The eyes speak... speak for nothing, better to shut up.
