Director M. Night Shyamalan's performance in recent years is worrying.

"The Banshee in the Water" and "The Calamity of the Top" have not kept up with his earlier works. Ever since "Signs of the Sky", I've felt that this Indian director has been a bit of a genius.

The first half of the film is well laid out, straight to the point, and the overwhelming and depressing feeling that the disaster suddenly came is also good to pinch, allowing the audience to play with the heartbeat of the plot. (Jumping off the building, shooting himself, hitting himself with a car...)

But the second half is a little weird. Did the virus die on its own? Or did the power of love overcome the virus? ? The director obviously wants to highlight the greatness of human nature and love to show how small disaster is in front of love, truth and courage.

I have to say that the ending of "Death to the Top" is still out of the ordinary, and the theme is far-fetched. The second half is rather blunt, and I feel that the director is piecing together the film, which is not complete and too subjective.

The starring Mark Wahlberg's performance is also very mediocre, in addition to running for his life and nagging him, he seems to have no effect. The dialogue is also back and forth in the words of the car, which is meaningless and not good enough. Just watch him act in an action movie. Simple and violent, it doesn't matter how bad his acting skills are. I look forward to him performing well in "Max Payne".

In general, this film is worth watching. Although it is a little inaccurate, it is still from the hands of M. Night Shyamalan. Some scenes are still quite exciting, and the atmosphere of the apocalypse is not bad.

But as a real disaster film is far from enough, the plot is simple and the special effects are poor.

If Director Sand insists on making "National Geographic" and "Discovery" into disaster films in the next few years, I am afraid it will be a disaster for disaster films.
