Sensitive because I care, not risky because it is important

I only watched the movie after watching the spoilers, but I still thought it was great. It may also be because I thought I knew the ending before, so the storyline itself did not shock me very much. What made me think about it was the difference between men and women reflected from the reflection between Kate and her husband.
At the beginning, both of them had great expectations for this adopted daughter, especially Kate, who has been struggling to come out of the grief of the death of her third child, and having one more child has always been the way to change her life. It may also be the unique delicacy of women that made Kate discover the abnormality of the adopted daughter very early, and these were indeed ignored by her husband.
The accident in the park and the story brought by the nun have all aroused Kate's vigilance. It is undeniable that this vigilance is more caused by concern for her family. Because I have enough love for my children and my husband, I can't allow them to take a little risk and get hurt a little bit, so Kate wants to send my adopted daughter to a psychiatrist. What I never understand is why the husband does not trust his wife and trusts a stranger (adopted daughter and psychiatrist), this may also be the instinctive expression of men, and it is also because the husband's love for the family is far less than that of the wife. The plots that can prove this point of view can be seen everywhere in the film. The most obvious
one is that the son was injured in the hospital. At that time, there were only two people except the injured son, one was the younger daughter and the other was the adopted daughter. The police should have found that someone set the fire, and normal people who are in love with their son would also suspect the person at the scene. The youngest daughter is too young, it is impossible, so the biggest suspect is the adopted daughter, so Kate's suspicion is reasonable, But my husband has no such idea at all. Even the sedated Kate's pleas for her husband to protect the youngest daughter from her adopted daughter were ignored.
Another point is that the adopted daughter tried to seduce her husband. After her husband discovered her dark side, in fact, as a normal person, she could basically judge that the wife's words were not made out of nothing. Then he should be worried about another member of the family - the youngest daughter, but unfortunately, until the husband was killed by the adopted daughter, he did not discover his tendency to seek the youngest daughter, which had to surprise and chill me. On the contrary, Kate received a call from the mental hospital, and after knowing the horror of her adopted daughter, she rushed home regardless of her own life, and she did not hesitate to die with her adopted daughter to save my youngest daughter. I was very moved.
I think this film can be summed up as the sense of family responsibility of men and women reflected by the different expressions of husband and wife to protect the family and family when a mysterious stranger breaks into a family.

The moment when he stabbed his adoptive father was really heartwarming. It's a pity that the second psychiatrist failed to set up a bridge to get rid of it. Vera is really handy in this kind of film. One more star is for Loli who plays an old maid. Her acting skills are so overbearing that she will definitely kill Xiao Xiaobin in seconds.

This is not one of the scariest films I have ever seen. The clever design of the plot and the unique layout of the scenes all add to the film a lot. However, the most commendable is the 12-year-old girl starring Isabel Foreman. Her acting skills are simply amazing! Really play hard, sell cute, pretend to be a loli, and act as a whore! The baby will definitely win an Oscar in the future!

Orphan quotes

  • Kate Coleman: [after being told the truth about Esther] Oh my God! How could she fool us?

Dr. Varava: She's been passing herself as a little girl for most of her life.

    [pause]

Dr. Varava: She tricked a family here in Estonia into adopting her. When she couldn't seduce the father, she killed him and his entire family...

Kate Coleman: Then she burned the house down!

Dr. Varava: Yes! How did you know?

    [pause]

Dr. Varava: She disappeared over a year ago and we lost track of her.

    [pause]

Dr. Varava: If it is really Leena, you don't have much time!

[Kate hangs up her cell phone and frantically runs out of the hospital to get to her car]

  • Dr. Varava: Does she have the scars?

Kate Coleman: What? I don't know, what scars?

Dr. Varava: Leena was one of our *most* violent patients. When she here she was kept in a straitjacket to stop her from hurting our staff, she was constantly fighting to get out of it. It cut into her skin and left her with scars around her wrists and neck. There is no way you could have not seen them!
