A fairy tale for children

I watched this movie during the Qingming Festival. Since I went late, I sat next to the third row, and my back was sore for more than two hours. The overall feeling is that this fairy tale movie is not as good as expected, but there is still something worth watching.
The film begins with a black and white 4:3 picture, which is full of the sense of the times. As the protagonist's hot air balloon is blown into the magic realm, the picture also expands, filling the screen, the colors are enriched, and the 3D effect is also revealed. There is indeed a feeling of entering another world. From this point of view, I feel that the director is still very thoughtful, which is also my favorite place.
The stories that follow are more fairy tales, or they can be said to be bloody. I won't go into details. After all, I just want to write about my feelings, not spoilers, nor a plot introduction.
My favorite in the film is of course the "sophisticated" monkey with such a cute expression! Of course, porcelain dolls are also good, and they look very porcelain-like.
Speaking of actors, James Franco is not a first-line actor. I have only seen him play Little Green Goblin before. The most profound thing about this actor is his wide-mouthed, toothy smile. He often laughed in "Spider-Man", and he continued to laugh in this movie, although in some places the smile was a little inexplicable.
In the end, I would like to say that the work of the same director is still better than Spider-Man. After all, many places describe the thinking about human nature and the dark side of human nature. As for "The Wizard of the Devil", it can only be said to be a fairy tale for children. Although it made some money, it was only temporary, and it did not have any influence. It will eventually be forgotten in the rolling wave of movies. .

Oz the Great and Powerful quotes

  • Oz: [drawing on the ground] Here's the plan. The wicked witch is the triangle. Monkey, you're the X. I'm the O. China Girl, you're the squiggly line.

China Girl: I wanna be a heart. Can I be a heart?

Oz: Fine, fine. You're a heart. Now, heart stays here. As O makes his way over here, X counters thusly. Clear so far?

    [Finley sneezes]

    China Girl: Bless you.

Oz: Good work. You just sneezed away the plan.

  • Annie: I need to tell you something, Oscar.

Oz: That's never a good start to a conversation.

Annie: John Gale asked me to marry him. That's why I've come. I thought you should know.

Oz: I think that's wonderful, Annie.

Annie: I said I had to think about it.

    Oz: Men love that answer.

Annie: I wondered what you thought I should do.

Oz: You could do a lot worse than John Gale. He's a good man.

    Annie: So are you.

Oz: No. I'm not. I'm many things, but a good man is not one of them.

Annie: But you could be. If you wanted to.

Oz: That's just it. I don't want to. See, Kansas is full of good men. Church-going men that get married and raise families. Men like John Gale. Men like my father... who spent his whole life tilling the dirt... just to die face down in it. I don't want that, Annie. I don't want to be a good man, I want to be a great one. I want to be... Harry Houdini and Thomas Edison all rolled into one.

Annie: That's all I ever wanted for you, you know. Greatness.

    Oz: Then you understand.

    Annie: I do.
