I'm someone who doesn't watch American dramas, and of course I haven't watched a single episode of "Breaking Bad." But when I saw this film, I was deeply attracted by Vince Gilligan's unique acting and narrative technique!
I haven't seen it, so I don't understand all the logic of this movie at all, the cause and effect and background information of all the characters and events in the movie are blank for me.
Vince Gilligan's expression in this film is internal, that is to say, the presentation in the film synchronized with the external world is every moment and the corresponding inner world of the protagonist. The only timeline of the entire film is the change in the inner world of the protagonist, corresponding to each present moment, which transcends the limitations of time and space on the narrative. The uniqueness of Vince Gilligan's work is that it does not add any judgment, but simply presents it. This approach is similar to "living in the moment according to the heart".
So, I don't need to know any episodes of the show, I don't need to know that backstory, and I can still be deeply immersed in the film and feel the information the director injects into every frame.
This may be the greatness of this TV series!
Thank you, Vince Gilligan!
