I started to think that someone's path seemed good.

Watch "Another Earth", a story/science fiction film completed with documentary lens language. There are quite a few lens styles that fit the story of "Salome", such as fast zoom, slow motion and normal sound. I can clearly see that the entire film was probably not shot with the same machine, because the picture quality is different, and I think it is very likely that this film was shot with natural light and with a non-cine-level camera. This Sundance best feature film award-winning work once again proves that making a good movie does not require a good machine, but a good story — I dare not say that this story is very good, because it redeems the wonders of the universe and humans. It is not easy to connect together. The film cannot be said to be perfect in the drama, but its expression and lens language are very much in line with the theme to a great extent, so it is a huge success. Later, when I went home to eat and searched for information, I found that this was a joint work of two talented people: Mike Cahill, who directed the screenwriter, photography and editing, and the actor and screenwriter Brit Marling, met at a certain year’s film festival, and did not cooperate since then. This purely fictitious work was released only after a few documentaries. ——I begin to think that someone’s path seems good.

Another Earth quotes

  • Richard Berendzen: Within our lifetimes, we've marveled as biologists have managed to look at ever smaller and smaller things. And astronomers have looked further and further into the dark night sky, back in time and out in space. But maybe the most mysterious of all is neither the small nor the large: it's us, up close. Could we even recognize ourselves, and if we did, would we know ourselves? What would we say to ourselves? What would we learn from ourselves? What would we really like to see if we could stand outside ourselves and look at us?

  • John's Son: What rhymes with "light"?

    John Burroughs: "Light"?

Maya Burroughs: Oh, that's a good one.
