Why Revolution?

This is not a movie suitable for entertainment. It
is very dull at the beginning and
it feels depressing

. Of course, the director has really tried his best to make people think about something
. From the perspective of casting actors, the contrast brought by Jack and Rose in the past
makes people feel A more intense fall from fantasy to reality,
the old age of the male protagonist? Wrinkles grow on the forehead, and the brows are deeply wrinkled
. The bleakness of the heroine? The light is no longer, the innocence in the eyes is replaced by the emptiness

However, why do I think this is just a faded version of life, the director deliberately filled the film with dull air for his purpose
Suburban life, in the process of watching I always keep thinking Desperate Housewives
is also American suburban life, why is one so dramatic
and the other one can only get rid of it through fantasy?

A beautiful big house, children, not a lot of money but enough to make the family comfortable A family of easy jobs, friendly neighbors
enjoying the sun in front of the house on the weekends and dinner in the evening
isn't this the life we've all been looking forward to since we're in love?
Is such a family really just like what is said in the movie, just happy in the eyes of others?

I don't believe, although I can more or less find the part where I can synaesthesia during the suffocating quarrel of the characters in the movie,
but I still believe that this is not a problem of the life itself, it is just a problem of the individual characters
I believe April For some reason there is indeed a lack of ability to deal with the reality of the situation,
lack of ability to be a lover of a man, lack of ability to take on these responsibilities in a family
and to love one's family.
Wasn't Frank's woe a help?
If only she had told Frank earlier
You should value what you do, because you are really good at it
, then her husband may have already exerted more talents, instead of just taking it as a work of last resort to

live with two people, Support each other and influence each other
because this world is too big, there are too many people and things, we need to have a shoulder to face everything together so as
not to feel lonely, and to gain strength when we are afraid of the road ahead.

A lot of marriages and families work like this, so, I

finally understand what this movie is trying to
convey
How to endure each other is not the so-called choice between dreams and reality is
just a personal tragedy A tragedy of a person who can't find a place for his dreams A tragedy of a person who has lost the ability to love A person who
can't find their own social value The tragedy of the woman is
neither the fault
of marriage nor the revolutionary road of marriage

Revolutionary Road quotes

  • Frank Wheeler: Sweetheart, what are you talking about? Where are we going to live?

    April Wheeler: Paris!

    Frank Wheeler: What?

April Wheeler: You always said it was the only place you'd ever been that you wanted to go back to. The only place that was worth living. So, why don't we go there?

    Frank Wheeler: You're serious?

April Wheeler: Yes! What's stopping us?

Frank Wheeler: What's stopping us? Well, I can think of a number of different things.

  • April Wheeler: When I first met you, there was nothing in the world you couldn't do or be.

Frank Wheeler: When you first met me, I was a little wise guy with a big mouth.

April Wheeler: You were not! How can you even say that?
