Handbook of Desire Management for Children

I don't know how this film is rated, although the overall style is gothic, and some of the plots are terrifying, it is probably still suitable for children to watch. At least the text of the original book of the show can be read by children.

Compared with the teaching of loyalty and bravery in The Adventures of James Peach, this work is a negative education in the opposite direction. Paradise life is the devil's bait, and this indoctrination is the same as the big bad wolf that eats the disobedient child. Whether it works or not is hard to say. Some children are particularly vulnerable to intimidation, while others eat the sugar coating and return the cannonballs. Is such a wonderful film fit for a stick? In my opinion, this use of pie is mostly a waste, but I would like to see children let the many wonderful dreams on the other end of the "soft channel", and in the future have a pair of eyes to discover the magic, a heart to create a wonderful, a pair of manufacturing Wonderful hands.

Coraline quotes

  • Other Father: [robotic] All will be swell, soon as Mother's refreshed. Her strength is our strength...

[one of the robotic hands closes his mouth forcefully]

Other Father: Mustn't... talk when Mother's not here.

Coraline Jones: If you won't even talk to me, I'm gonna find the other Wybie. He'll help me.

    Other Father: No point.

    [face distorts]

Other Father: He pulled a loooong face... and Mother didn't like it.

  • Coraline Jones: [on the "Other" Mother] Why does she want me?

Cat: She wants something to love, I think. Something that isn't her. Or, maybe she'd just love something to eat.

Coraline Jones: Eat? That's ridiculous, mothers don't eat... daughters.

Cat: I don't know. How do you taste?

    [chuckles]
