I'll probably never understand the idea of conquering the pinnacle

It is often heard that mountaineering has a thrill of conquest. I really do not understand.
I am a dead house. I have lived in a small town at the foot of the mountain more than 600 meters above sea level for more than 4 years. There are 4 or 5 mountains of more than 2000 meters in the surrounding area. Because the mountains are covered with snow for half a year, they have not been developed. , there are no stone steps, only trails stepped by climbers. And I haven't climbed once, and probably won't in the future.
Mountaineering enthusiasts will probably say that I am wasting resources, but the reality is that few of the locals around me simply climb mountains for the sake of climbing. The locals also go up the mountain to pick bracken and bamboo shoots in spring, mushrooms in autumn, chestnuts, and wood tongs. Occasionally, they use smoke to stun a few wasps and make medicinal wine (especially effective for being stinged by wasps). Mountains are more like them. back garden. The only local person I know who often climbs the mountain is an athlete who participated in the Olympic Games when he was young. When he is in a good mood, he will wear a pair of ordinary cloth shoes to climb a mountain of more than 2,000 meters, and rush down the mountain before lunch. For him, climbing is just like us. Like shopping on weekends. There is also a well-connected uncle who lives in the middle of the mountain, and there are often raccoon dogs passing by in front of the door, and occasionally bears. For the natives, mountains were never meant to be conquered, they were part of their lives.
People who watch the movie for the first time may be amazed by the Sherpa's mountaineering skills and ability to judge the weather, but in fact, most people in the mountains have the skill point of judging the weather. Some mountain tops love cumulus clouds, but the wind is small. Generally, it will end when it rains on the top of the mountain. Some are just thin clouds at the beginning, but when there is wind, they will gather around noon, and it will rain at dusk, and in late autumn. Some clouds and fog will wrap the mountain tightly, and in this case, it usually snows on the top of the mountain. Moreover, the clouds and wind directions are different in spring, summer, autumn and winter, but there is experience to be found. After living in the mountains for a long time, you will feel that the mountains are alive. Each mountain has its own character and different expressions every day. You can guess its mood, but you can never predict when its mood will change.
In front of nature, people are so insignificant. In the eyes of the mountains, we are just ants-like existences. Conquest is impossible to talk about.
In the comments, some people complained that the disaster scene of the blizzard was not cool enough. I believe that the person who said this must have never really seen a blizzard. The horror of a blizzard can only be known by those who have experienced it. I have never climbed a snowy mountain, but lived at the base of the mountain and experienced several blizzards. One time I came home late from get off work, and it started to snow halfway. What is Blizzard like? That is, whether your car has high beams or low beams, the visibility is not more than one meter, and the snow all over the sky reflects the light back, so that you can't tell the direction at all.
Usually less than 5 minutes of the road I drove for half an hour.
Less than 50 meters from home, the four-wheel drive car was stuck in more than half a meter of snow and could no longer drive. I had to walk home to get the shovel and plan to dig a road to drive the car back, but I regretted it less than 10 meters away. The snow in the blizzard is not like the six-petal snowflakes made by special effects in Korean dramas, but a large amount of broken snow like sand. Like a sandstorm, it blows straight into your eyes, mouth, and nose, making it impossible to breathe. The storm slapped you directly on your face and body, wrapped in broken snow, with biting pain. Every breath will make you feel the loss of heat in a real and sober way. When walking in the snow, the legs are not strided, but pulled out, raised, and dropped. These three movements are a cycle, and this does not include the movement of falling into the snow without standing firm. The most terrifying thing is that you consume a lot of physical strength because of the large-scale movements, your body sweats involuntarily and heats up, while the strong wind and your own breathing are constantly depriving you of your body temperature. This is a problem you cannot control. vicious cycle. It stands to reason that the wind should be loud, whistling and chilling, but the fact is that when you go all out, you will gradually lose the wind. You can only hear your own rapid breathing, heartbeat and dead silent snow.
That day I walked 30 meters in the snow and I was lucky enough to meet an acquaintance who drove by, but those climbers who encountered a blizzard were not as lucky as me.
I wanted to write a film review seriously, but it turned out to be a confession of a monk in the mountains halfway through. In fact, in terms of scenery alone, the most beautiful scenery is the mountain itself. The four seasons of the year, wind or rain or fog or snow, or clear skies, or dense clouds, fresh green in spring, lush forests in summer, red leaves in autumn, and white snow in winter. For the wowotou (if the weather is bad, you may not even see the wowotou), the charm of the mountain itself is much greater.
Of course, I don't mean to deny the fact that mountaineering has its meaning. Ordinary people will never be able to take the first place in the exams in their entire lives, and their jobs may not be successful. The marriage partner is likely to be an ordinary person as well, and the saddest thing is that the children born are likely to be just like themselves, who are about to start an ordinary life. of ordinary people. Can really rely on one's own efforts to climb to the top, stand on the highest point, and see the mountains and small, maybe only the moment of reaching the top. Mountaineering is not to conquer nature, but to prove one's existence and to prove that one is different as an ordinary person through the hardships of climbing step by step.
So please don't say you conquered this mountain, you conquered only the life you want to change.
