"Everest" (Chinese translation: "Deadly Altitude") to see on September 20. This film is the opening ceremony film of this Venice Film Festival, and it is full of stars. Because I have severe face blindness, I will not summarize who is who here, and leave it to those of insight to discover it by themselves.

Really looking forward to this movie, because I am a creature who can't resist the theme of "Based on a True Story". And "Everest" is based on the mountain disaster that occurred on Mount Everest in 1996. This mountain disaster occurred before the 2014 Mount Everest avalanche accident and the 2015 Nepal earthquake accident. It was the year with the largest number of deaths in the history of climbing Mount Everest, and it caused a lot of international sensation.

Regarding the mountain disaster that year, there are different opinions on various materials, because every year, mountaineers from all over the world form various teams to march to Mount Everest. How many people climbed the mountain and how many people died in the original mountain disaster , the exact number has not been verified. But the central event everyone discussed happened between May 10 and May 11.

At that time, the core team of the accident was two commercial mountaineering teams, one led by Rob Hall and the other led by Scott Fischer, these two experienced mountaineers. That is the key character of this film. They all have many amazing mountaineering records, and have helped countless mountaineering enthusiasts. They are also the first people to turn the summit of Mount Everest into a business model. However, when two teams of climbers encountered a strong storm in the process of climbing, many climbers were unfortunately killed, and the two climbers also died. Included in the incident was a non-commercial team of Taiwanese climbers whose main guides were local Sherpas.

Among the survivors of the accident was an American outdoor journalist, Jon Krakauer, who later wrote the experience into the best-selling book "Into the Air." However, the analysis of the accident process and the cause of the accident in the book was publicly questioned by several other survivors, which also shows that it is difficult to fully restore some details of the accident from the accounts of some survivors. Another Taiwanese mountaineer, Gao Minghe, was also one of the survivors of the accident, and later wrote the book "Nine Dead Lives" based on his personal experience.

For friends who want to experience this movie seriously with a pilgrimage mood, I would strongly recommend that you do some homework before going. Learn about the general history of the mountain disaster in 1996, the location of Mount Everest, the starting time and route of each team, and the introduction of each team involved in the mountaineering. This can help you understand the various backgrounds made in the first 1/3 of the film, and avoid being blinded by the many characters in this film.

Before watching this film, many friends also inspected the film and gave many mixed reviews. Most of the "deprecations" focus on the fact that the plot is too delayed, the presentation is poor, the character creation is not deep enough, and I am not satisfied with the performances of the big names (sometimes too much expectation from the big names is a pain!), I always feel that something is missing. In fact, what is lacking is a dramatic and passionate interpretation, because this film is not a traditional Hollywood heroic commercial blockbuster.

If you want to see heroes with superpowers in this film to save mankind from natural disasters (refer to "San Andrea's Doomsday Collapse"), or to appreciate the competing performances of the stars, You will probably be disappointed. During the filming of this film, we interviewed the survivors and the widow of the victims, took on-the-spot shooting, conducted various inspections, and tried to restore the true nature of the accident to the greatest extent possible. We respect the original work very much, but only add details that cannot be studied in the middle. Screenplay modification. Therefore, whether it is the characterization of the characters or the description of the plot, including all kinds of sensationalism brought about by the disaster, almost all are the mapping of real events, thus lacking some room for commercial films.

If you didn't feel anything about Everest before watching this film, you didn't feel anything about climbing, and you didn't feel anything about climbers' fanaticism toward Everest... Then it's a bit of a surprise to find some bright spots in this film. Difficult, maybe the more interesting thing is just the shooting effect. Strong blizzard, the feared snow-capped Mount Everest, the suspension bridge with weak feet, and a series of professional climbing scenes. If you happen to be a soft girl, maybe you will grieve and shed a few tears for the tragic fate of the characters afterwards.

For me, I have not only been fortunate enough to experience all kinds of dizziness that went deep into the Tibetan area and climbed the snow-capped mountains, but at the beginning of this year, I even braved the storm to climb Mt Kosciusko, the famous peak in Australia (without any professional mountaineering attire that day, pregnant with With the heart of an outing, I stepped onto a road of no return), I experienced all kinds of thrills during the period, and finally I can still get out of the predicament smoothly and safely. Far away, watching this movie, I still feel deeply about the various moods of the protagonists when the incident happened!

Not afraid of opponents like gods, only afraid of comrades like pigs. In this mountain calamity, it is manifested in fear of comrades like pigs and opponents like gods! Whether it was the earthquake in Nepal in 2015, the avalanche of Mount Everest in 2014, or the blizzard of Mount Everest in 1996 directed by this film... In front of nature, human beings are really insignificant. But for mountaineers, Everest is a holy place in their hearts, a high point that they both admire and desperately want to conquer. That kind of fear and being teased constantly stimulates their/their senses, making everyone risk the probability of death and survival like a moth to a flame, one after another.

Some people quit halfway through, and some people would rather die than give up. For one reason or another, these people unconditionally tied their life value to this peak that the world looks up to, leaving their relatives and friends crying and palpitating. I can't understand it, and some viewers may not understand it, but we have to face up to it and face up to the different beliefs of each of us.

But mountaineering is a team activity, and an irrational person who is not afraid of death will often drag a bunch of innocent people to death. It is not difficult to see in this mountain disaster that almost all the professional guides in the business team were killed in order to rescue others, and some of the team members did not have the appropriate physical conditions or climbing experience to challenge such a mythical peak. It's really unspeakable regret to see the final tragedy, but also can't judge right or wrong.

All in all, I am very satisfied with this movie and recommend it. Finally, a friendly reminder, remember to watch 3D.
