Because I just watched "Scarface" not long ago, the director and starring of the two films are the same, so I can't help but compare:
1. Pacino played a very good old man in "Dawn of the Owl": a good man, a good buddy, a good citizen, gentle to his lover, loyal to his friends, and tolerant to his enemies. This makes the audience who are used to his gangster brother's style very unaccustomed to it. Moreover, Arsino is still passive everywhere in this film, his buddies are betrayed, his subordinates betray, and his unshaven face always shows a frantic expression of helplessness, which makes me like to watch him sweeping people with a machine gun while spraying "fxxk" "The fans are also very helpless.
2. The heroine is good, but not as good as Michelle Pfeiffer. In this film, there are many performances that show two points... It shows that De Palma is still very open, and she is not a big star. Then again, how much I want to see Michelle Pfeiffer at two o'clock.
3. I think Brian De Palma should be a quasi-master director, but why is he always in a state of half black and not red? Maybe it's because of his heavy taste. For example, in "Scarface", there is a scene where a chainsaw cuts people, and "Love Owl" is the scene of cutting the throat soon after the beginning.
Sean Penn, one of the leading actors in this film, you must not recognize me at the beginning of my guarantee.
If I give "Scarface" five stars, then this film is four and a half stars, and the reason for the recommendation is Pacino, the chase scene at the end, Sean Penn.
The next Palma movie to look forward to is Razor's Edge.
